I just finished the previous episode at work this morning. Glad I checked for more!

Looking forward to it, but I must admit that I've found myself disagreeing so much with your assessment of the various ships, pilots, and upgrades, that I have to quit listening when the show gets to that part. :)

Well by all mean heychadwick, please share your thoughts with us here or on the facebook page. we encourage good debates here!

Well, I've done so, but at this point, I just can't even listen any more. I just get frustrated with it. I think it was the discussion of Porkins that was disappointing. If you use him with R5-D8, he only has an 11% chance of taking damage. Even then, you can use another action to remove it. Give him Expert Handling, or Stay On Target and you see a pretty maneuverable X-wing. He's not that many points, but he falls short of PS9, which seems to be a threshold for you to actually ever consider using.

I think that you are primarily geared towards top table, highly competitive play and there are some things that are just not economical enough to ever be used. That's a shame as I think there is a lot more to X-wing than top tier tournament play.

Don't mean to diss you guys or anything. I like the show, but just disagree with the assessment of the various ships.

You guys do a good job with the show... but you have forgotten that there is a lot more to the game than meta & math.

A LOT MORE!

Aw. :( Well hopefully it is all informative even if you disagree, and like Ed said, feel free to share your thoughts!

Got a great success story or failure? :)

I really like the concept of Porkins, I just don't really like him for 30 points glued to an X-wing chassis. At the tournament level, looks like everyone agrees -- but a little bit of house rule changes to himself and R5-D8 and he is pretty hilarious to play.

Porkins without a house rule is still pretty good. He can remove damage to himself all game, not just the ones that he gives himself. Then again, only 11% chance that he gives himself damage. You can make a maneuverable X-wing that has PS 8. What's not to like? If the enemy doesn't concentrate him down, he just starts removing his damage like others give back shields.

Joe, you're going to inspire me to make up some house rules for a completely over-the-top-munchkin TIE Defender. Original PC game TIE Fighter level of awesomeness. With tractor beams, and a built-in Ion secondary shot like BTL-A4. And 8 shields. Because that's what it had. hah. Pure epic awesomeness for casual play or scenarios.

Thanks for the shout out MJ, that was a fun game. ABT's are really good right now. For those who are interested, here's the squad.

Greedo's Grinders

Mux + ABT

x3 Syndicate Thugs + ABT

Spice Runner + ABT + Greedo

It's surprising how much hate Greedo generates.

Thanks for the shoutout from the March of Dimes tourney! Glad you could make it out. We raised over $500 for the March of Dimes, thanks to everyone that came out, and for the AMAZING staff at Mr. Nice Guy Games for hosting and donating prizes as well.

I don't like the fact he's an expensive x wing that isn't high enough ps to react to ps 8 and above ships and doesn't have the durability to survive reliably. If he's taking an r5d8 action then he's not modifying dice, if you use push or EI then you're constantly stressing yourself which leads to double stress, ion stress, or being extremely predictable. Like most x wings to get them to do what you want you gotta sink too many points into them.

There are only 3 hits on the red die. If he removes a stress, chances are he will not take any damage. He will get an action most times. If he does take a damage, the chances are 5 out of 8 that he removes it. Yes, it would be better to take actions, but at this point, he removed the stress and gets no action. He's not predictable next turn.

Now that I've taken out MJ, it's time to set my sights on Chad and Ed :P

Hey I still want a rematch at some point! :D

(I'm actually reasonably terrified of 5 autoblasters...)

He's still an x wing though lol

You know I love you guys... i mean we have been hanging out for like two years now. i know I come off as a jerk because I am direct and have a crisp-ass humor. Gotta say while it may seem like I hate meta and math, the fact is that i do not hate either of these approaches. I do not like for people to allow themselves to become enslaved however, as this often this leads to blind cultist or a jaded follower who will eventually leave what they once loved.

You should remain open to everything. I know the math and meta, but I do not allow it to curtail my imagination and my love for the fun that toys bring.

Be a man (or woman) but F'n NEVER GROW UP! Also I am not going to lead or follow or get out of the way... screw that!

No what I am going to continue to do is explore and share with like minded Star Brothers & Sisters who in their own way have inspired me... Me Likes DAT!!!

There is nothing about this paragraph I don't like. Using a Delta in the Cutting the Cord scenario actually comes pretty close to the "ultimate" TIE Fighter presented in the PC game (barring PS obviously).

See Juggies... now you gotta!

Get busy you!

You could probably fund a really good show if you sold the technology that allows your closing segment to move backwards through time. Seems like a thing that might catch on.

Well, I've done so, but at this point, I just can't even listen any more. I just get frustrated with it. I think it was the discussion of Porkins that was disappointing. Pretty sure the show advertises as being mostly about the competitive game.

Which is limiting the whole thing... as it stands now.

:P

Some people like talking about x wing in those competitive limits :P

Make sure you include their X-wing: Alliance action:

At any time you may recover two shields but you must roll 2 fewer dice on your next attack.
