Looks similar to what I am working on now. That Assault Frigate seems to be the missing link for the Rebel fighter game currently. I like the insight on the Objective though. It is something I am studying in more depth now that the basics are under foot.
300 Point Rebel Biulds...
@Mward: the only thing I don't like in your fleet is you did not maxed out your starfighter wing.
all the named pilots have come in at about 7 or 8 points in some cases even 9 more points. no way tycho is under 14,
Current Biuld which I plan to purchase based on:
Assault Frigate II B - 72
Mon Mothma - 30
Enhanced armament - 10
shoot more black dice title - 8
Nebulon B support - 51
Nebulon B support - 51
cr90 Corvette A - 44
A-wings - 11
A-wings - 11
A-wings - 11
299
No idea how to play rebels in reality, I'm hoping Mon Mothma making your evades better will be awesome.
Dmgcontrol:
First of all, I think you've chosen the best starfighter for the big ship-centric biuld: A-wings IMHO are best second violin starfighters due to counter 2 special rule.
If I were you I would change the AF MkII title into overload pulse for Corvette (and 'downgrade' the latter into all blue version) - that way you can overwhelm enemy's defences for long range bombardment with AF Mk II and both Nebulons.
I'm trying to get my purchases (1 AK mk2, 1 corvette, 1 neb, 1 fighter...so one of all wave 1 rebs
) to make sense with the upcoming 300 point limit. Unsuccessful ![]()
There are way too many things I want to try with all available commanders ![]()
I see a lot of people running multiple corvettes, have you found them to be useful?
Personally, I've been fascinated by "Salvation" and have been wanting to make a list for it, but given my scrubness with this game I have no idea if I'm throwing points in the right direction.
1.) Neb-B Escort
Lady MM
Yavaris (had leftover points)
[92]
2.) Neb-B Escort
Raymus Antilles (really enjoy the idea of Raymus for mobility, for 3 Squadron, and +1 red die with a re-roll)
Salvation
[71]
3.) CR90-B
Lea
Dodonna's Pride
[48]
Squadrons:
Wedge (19)
Dutch (16)
Y-wing (10)
4 A-wings (44)
I've also thought about just using Salvation for pure firepower, turning him into a Support Refit and pairing him with an Assault Frigate (General Big-D, enhanced Armaments) the same Dodonna's Pride, and 3 A-wings + 2 X-wings + Luke in the hopes of chucking enough red dice to drown a victory to death.
Edited by ficklegreendiceTry Salvation with XX9 turbolasers... or... X17 Turbolasers.
Try Salvation with XX9 turbolasers... or... X17 Turbolasers.
The X17 covers the difference between the Escort Frigate and Support Refit perfectly ![]()
do wonder how much I'll regret it when I don't run into any redirects, though
Edited by ficklegreendiceYou mean no-Victory list? No chance, at least now.
I am partial to the Nebulon-B. I really want a functional three-B list at 300 points. At 400 points I anticipate falling in love with broadsides madness with the way the MC80 and MC30 are looking, but I'm not going to get ahead of myself yet. Currently, this is what I'm working on:
Nebulon-B Escort - 90pts
-Garm Bel Iblis
-Redemption
Nebulon-B Escort - 72pts
-Adar Tallon
-Yavaris
Nebulon-B Support - 64pts
-XI7 Turbolasers
-Salvation
"Dutch" - 16pts
Y-wing - 10pts
2 A-wings - 22pts
2 X-wings - 26pts
I wanted to include a hero squadron, and Dutch felt like the winner paired with Yavaris and an X-wing escort to force attention away from him for a while. There is so much potential for punishment with Yavaris leading the fighter screen with Dutch and Adar Tallon. A squadron token would most definitely be banked from Garm at turn one to prepare for the initial clash. With four bomber keywords, I would hope there would be assets left to turn against a capital ship after the fighter engagement. I also wanted to have a lot of flexibility with my fighter squadrons, and I think I arrived at a configuration I'm pretty happy with.
I'm very anxious to give this list a shot - any suggestions for improvement? Because of how potent the Yavaris would be with the fighter squadrons and a banked squadron token, I have considered dropping the Redemption down to a support frigate, transferring the XI7 Turbolasers to her and equipping the Salvation with some XX-9 Turbolasers to get a bit more teeth in the Neb-Bs.
Had to redo my list (Just realized Raymus isn't an admiral)
Assault Frigate Mark II B (72)
Mon Mothra (30)
Gallant Haven (8)
Raymus Antilles (7)
Expanded Hangar Bay (5)
122
CR90 Corvette B (39)
Engine Techs (8)
Overload Pulse (8)
55
CR90 Corvette B (39)
Engine Techs (8)
Overload Pulse (8)
55
Luke (20)
B-Wing (14)
B-Wing (14)
Y-Wing (10)
Y-Wing (10)
68
Plan is for the Corvettes to use their speed and zip behind the enemy as quickly as possible, or steal objectives at a ridiculous speed.
From then on they should slow down rapidly to stay behind the enemy and try to wear out their Defense Tokens. Mon Mothra gives them a better chance at survival. If you Store a Move Token then follow up with a command, coupled with Engine Techs you can go from speed 2 to 4+1.
The Gallant Haven then follows in with a Squadron Bomber spam to finish off what i hope is a worn out enemy Capital ship. With the extended bays and Raymus's help a squadron command can move in all 5 Squadrons for a quick pounce bombing run.
I'm not a Nebulon fan. The Corvettes have the speed and the Frigate has the Utility and durability.

the rebel mirror match would beg to differ ![]()
wave 1 really needs to hurry up, or I'll be drowning in lists I need to try out ![]()
I also really want to see what the ideal balance of squadrons per ships are, because I have a variant of the MM build which includes two Support Refit Nebs (one with MM, the other Raymus + Salvation) and two CR90as (one with Leia) to just roll red dice at enemies all day long. The only Squadrons presents are 4 As and Wedge, though, and I have no idea if that's enough.

I still have no sense of what is "enough" for squadrons. Most of my Rebel fleet builds end up with 6 squadrons. Even when I decide to play around and see what a 400 point list would look like with only wave 1 releases, most of my extra points go to the ships and I have still only ended up with 8 squadrons in an intentionally fighter "heavy" list.
I know I'm going to need another Rebel squadron pack though. When I was getting my preorder together, I asked myself "how often are you going to need more than two of each of these?" and since then, the answer has been "A-wings. You need all of the A-wings."
What about two assault frigates? How would it work? Suggestions and criticism welcomed.
Assault Frigate Mark II A (81)
-Garm Bel Iblis (25)
-Weapons Liaison (3)
-Enhanced Armament (10)
-Paragon (5)
Assault Frigate Mark II B (72)
-Adar Tallon (10)
-Expanded Hanger bay (5)
-Gallant Haven (8)
Wedge Antilles (19)
X-wing Squadron (13)
X-wing Squadron (13)
"Dutch" Vander (16)
Y-Wing Squadron (10)
Y-Wing Squadron (10)
Objectives:
Advanced Gunnery
Hyperspace Assault
Minefields
Total: 300 points
Edit: Changed Leia to Weapons Liaison
Edited by Azorius16Lea's pretty weak on a 3 command ship (Versus slapping her on a corvette and being able to control your frigate's command)
Garm is mini-tarkin, though, which means you can abuse the living hell out of liaisons
I'd take on demand Squadron commands over any other officer on a command 3 ship

I misread the Liaisons, I will switch one out for Leia immediately
I've had some decent games with this, core set only:
Nebulon Escort:
General Dodonna
Defense Liason
Enhanced Armament
Engineering Team
Nebulon Escort:
Enhanced Armament
Engineering Team
CR-90B
Dodonna's Pride
Luke Skywalker
X-Wing Squadron x5
Able to slaughter the Tie swarm and then deal with the Victory from behind with the X-wings. Enhanced armament really helps the damage output on the Nebulon, especially when you can get both front and side arc on a Victory. Engineering teams help you survive the inevitable retaliation.
Edited by DarkArkAre all of you guys playing with objectives yet? You can simply avoid the Victory in most cases.
assuming you can continue to apply core set tactics after wave 1 has completely changed the game
Edited by ficklegreendiceHow about this one?
