Had a little time to put brush to rock this week so I think I finally nailed down what our new Asteroid Defense core set will consist of, bear in mind this a totally sandbox set-up so the builds shown are merely serving suggestions, what you need or build are totally your own imagination! I love open ended narrative style gaming so, for me, the ability to be able to create a base to suit your objectives is an added bonus and I'll be honest I really enjoyed creating them! So much fun to build I fear my room may be overrun with hundreds of asteroid variations before the month is out! Working on the booster sets as we speak so expect some more weird and wonderful builds anytime soon! Few ships from different systems shown for scale...
Battlefield bling!
Bird of Prey, 10 O'clock!! (decloaking!!!)
Man I've been eyeing those stations for a while...
Are these available somewhere?
Bulldog- Always been a huge fan of your stuff mate!
What are your models made from? It's obviously not plascticard, so is it a clay?
since I didn't see this answered, and I am here and browsing that shop so i'll quote from the obstacles:
" Material
Each scenery piece is made using high quality Alpha grade casting plaster. One of the highest end material with a special resin additive formula. It is a very hard, white 100% alpha plaster for use where high strength and surface hardness and durability are important. This is a much harder material than resin as it holds great detail and does not suffer from bendy sword syndrome. Every scenery piece is highly textured featuring many small details that make painting using dry-brushing and washes easy to do.
All scenery pieces are supplied pre-cleaned, unpainted and sealed ready for painting unlike equivalent resins that may need to be soaked with the washing up! "
anyways those things look nice
... soon my precious, soon.
Edited by GeressenHi chaps, glad you like them, cant stop building the bloody things now, so much fun! Aiming to release end of this month, I've put together two 'booster sets' and a 'mega-roid' (I like that coz it sounds funny) just finished building some absolutely epic bases with all these sets, keep an eye out, I will update soon as I can put the glue and knife down, get them painted and post some pictures
Just a quick note, probably not supply these particular parts pre-sealed as the above describes, just makes more sense to do this yourself once you have created your masterpieces. It isn't absolutely necessary but the models will take the paint much much better if you do, the sealer is simply PVA glue watered down to a milky consistency, don't have to be too careful about splashing it on as it soaks right in. Full details will be added to the item description when we get round to it
Biggest problem now is finding some shelf space for another 10+ Asteroid bases <facepalm>
Putting a star on this thread for my own use. I'd love to get my hands on some of these myself
That jungle planet is just gorgeous! And its moon is cool too.
actually I think that planet is a forest moon.
and the moon... that's no moon.

They are Forresto, I tend to repaint most of the 'pre-painted' stuff, plenty more of it over on the website...tanksandtrolls.co.uk I try to keep things updated on there
Hi. Would you ever just make correct shaped flat bases for the obstacle tokens? I am struggling to find a way to cut a sheet of acrylic to size without investing in a scrolling saw.
Hi mate, you mean the armada debris fields we do with just a flat base and no detail? I could probably sort it for you and maybe add them as an alternative option, erm...just thought if i actually have the tokens still...I'll check later tonight!
It would be nice to find someone locally to paint my fighters.
I'm not Local, but I am

Thanks mate. Would like the space station one too if possible. Let me know if you still have the templates and how much it would be when you can.

Well was she?
Some great looking ships there!
Fantastic little sculpts, fun to paint!
Got my QX and debris sets the other day and I'm very impressed already. Got the asteroids done today, did mine up like the tokens. Chaos black primer, agrax earthshade wash, sylvaneth bark drybrush, nuln oil wash, and a final sylvaneth drybrushing. I'll get you some photographs of it in the morning! Incredibly fast arrival from the U.K. too, it estimated the 23rd and I got them Friday.
Do have a question, for assembling the QX, any recommendations? Warhammer friends suggested superglue but the weight of the plaster makes me worry it may not hold.
