Help on card errata...

By fanofthex, in Runebound

I just had a question on a card from the core set, 'Kraxonis the Old". Concerning the reward, 1) what happens when the first card you draw is more than the 10 gold limit? Do you just not receive reward? or do you discard the market card and start again?

My group has been playing that you start again because being a purple challenge, it doesn't seem fair that you don't receive reward for your battle.

2) Also concerning said item card that you draw for reward, do you get to keep all the items as long as the items do not exceed the 10 gold limit, or do you only get to choose one of the items?

Any help you veterans could give, would be great! Thanks in advance! LONG LIVE RUNEBOUND!!!!

You are probably over-reading this card a little as its instructions are very clear.

Step 1: Draw cards until the value of all item cards totals or exceeds 10 gold. That means if the first card you draw is over 10 gold, you would only draw that one card, no more. It also means you can draw lots of cards. In essence you are creating a Dragon's Hoard of treasure for your hero to choose from.

Step 2: You may take any of these cards for free, as long as their total value does not exceed 10 gold. Unfortunately, if you only draw one card and that card is more than 10 gold, then you cannot take it. This also means you can take more than one card, so long as you never take a combination of cards that are worth more than 10 gold.

Step 3: All cards not chosen are discarded and re-shuffled into the market stack. Thus if you only draw one card and its more than 10 gold, you gain no reward and you just re-shuffle the card into the market stack. Its a little harsh, but then again, this card can almost fully outfit a hero if you draw lots of cheap or medium cost treasure. Such is the game.
