I have seen it mentioned a couple of times about having an Acolyte with the Haarlock bloodline.
Is there a character generation option to take bloodlines in Dark Heresy?

Not that I've seen published. It's mentioned as an evil thing for a GM to do in The House of Dust and Ash.
So I'm going to do it. But my player is unaware of this legacy, it's something that crept into the (nobel) family out of wedlock, and isn't talked about.
theres no character generation thing because theres no characteristic change its just the blood youve got in your veins not your upbringing just wait til more of the Tattered Fates adventure im sure that blood will come in very handy
One of my characters participated in The House of Dust an Ash ...
...Mortem Adelizzi (AKA The Silver Skull), Battle Magos of the Divine Light of Sollex, came to Solomon with the purpose of not only serving alongside his righteous fellow acolytes but to also retreive the sacred Energy Blade of the fallen Battle-Magos Octovus Hozzel. He and his acolytes did not count on the presence of a powerful xenos who decided it was time to feast and nourishment after dropping its guise as 'Mr Nonesuch', for several of the acolytes were severely tested by previous conflicts aboard the skyships. Nor were they prepared (or at least the Silver Skull wasn't) when it came to light that one of the acolytes were exposed as a blood borne relative of the Haarlock lineage. A series of assassination attempts ensues, the result of which sees the Silver Skull nearly pass into the light of the Omnissiah, were it not for ministrations of the leader, Amalia Thrace, a skilled Chirugeon. All but crippled, the battle-magos was later forced to undergo a Cyber-Rebiuld, and to lament upon his lot whilst in recovery, before charged with uncovering the mysterious circumstances regarding their disappearance of his fellow acolytes upon Maccabeus Quintus. With a newly recruited member to the investigative team to assist him, in the form of a mind-cleansed veteran known simply as Rotha, Mortem "Silver Skull" Adelizzi sets off...
If the facet of one of the acolytes being a distant descendent of the Haarlock bloodline is to play a factor in one of the further installments of the Haarlock Legacy, I wouldn't expect a happy ending. Certainly not if Tattered Fates is anything to go by.
Personally I'm planning on most of the PCs being of the Haarlock Bloodline. Then again I'm a mean GM who's players tend throw away anything that's "too powerful"....
A little thread necromancy here....
I'm getting ready to run House of Dust and Ash and was wondering about those that had an Acolyte as the Haarlock scion. The adventure never really tells you whether getting out requires the death of the scion, just that the chalice must be filled with his blood.
Wouldn't it be possible, once the players realize who the scion is, to use his blood to get out without actually killing the scion?
Thanks.
When it came to that I described the chalice as being so large that the amount of blood to fill it would easily kill him. Otherwise the first thing they would have done is fill the chalice (one guy is a doctor as his cover and quite good at medicae).
In that situation, i would have allowed it to work... and then handed out a small bucket-load of corruption (1d10 or 2d10 - WPB) for willingly furthering the agendas of a warp being/daemon. Then, it would be free, and it would owe them, whether they wanted it to or not (more corruption latter, yay!). In the end, though, I didn't have to worry about that. When they first heard it's name, one player got a dark look on her face and announced "that... doesn't sound good" A few psyniscience tests latter, and they were convince that there was a daemon trapped in there and the whole point of the auction was to release that daemon, something they were going to die rather then see happen. They have learned their lessons well.
Don't forget, though, the chalice is just one way out. There's anouther for astute players. Think of this as a pivotal event that separates pawns (those who comply with the demands) from true and up and comming powers of the Calaxis sector (those who refuse to be pawns and find anouther way).
Good points, thanks for your input!
My GM ran us throught the House of Dust and Ash and had not one but 2 PC's and an NPC as decendents of Haarlock. My surprise that my character was one of the three. What we ended up doin is having other PC's do a blood transfusion after giving their blood. Luckily the GM rolled good enough that some of the other pc's were the same blood type. Our Tech Priest was a master surgeon so he preformed the transfusion that kept everyone alive. So instead of killing a PC, we were simply weak from bloodloss, my character was technically unconcious along with the little psyker who's blood type matched. Granted we did all of this after killing Mr. Nonsuch, the heretic tech priest Octavia Niall, a cultist dude (cant remember his name), and Greel. On a sad note we released a crazy uber powerful psyker chick, on the plus side though we got some really nice stuff coming to us in the near future. Which is a good thing because from what I hear we have started Tattered Fates (wasn't at last gaming session due to college homework).

That, and CoH weekend
. Shame you were gone too, I was in desperate need of tech assistance in the last fight.

Well in my defense I was under the assumption we weren't gaming last weekend. CoH weekend was the only thing keeping me from rage quitting trying to make something in 3ds Max. I try to keep my homework done for gaming weekend that way I can concentrate on the game and not be distracted which would've happened had I showed up. I'll there for next weekend's issue of mass death at the hands of our "trigger happy" acolytes. Sorry to the OP for the quick threadjack
