Best Wind/Death character?

By Da_ghetto_gamer, in UFS General Discussion

So its obvious to me that i want to build some sort of hybrid deck because these are my 2 favorite symbols right now and they go pretty well together since they have things like Tiras contract, inhuman perception, perfect sense of balance etc....

for me its the best way to build the hybrid deck i want to run for worlds but im stuck on what character to run im looking at characters like Tira. Fio older chunners or maybe Remy....yes remy hes got good control abilities along with a awesome character only attack its just his handsize that makes me a little weary in symbols that dont draw too much with the exception of like hulking brute......im leaning towards Fio the most though

Anyways the point of this whole post is to see what everyone else thinks i should try or whats good in todays meta and what character i should run

I want to run shredding Vibrato as my main kill so keep that into consideration as well so even a way to damage pump it would be nice

I'll need to see the other attacks in the deck to make a decision.

If you are not complety dead set on Vibratto, I'd recomend Hata2. His attacks get very fast and very big very quick.

thinking about like heel snipe, maybe hurricane punishment to help clearing cards to play vibrato and i guess the others would depend on the character im running

Hmm. If you're running Heel Snipe then I'd say Fio would probably be the best bet, the fact that she can use Enhance-based momentum generation that's unstoppable during Heel Snipe means she can wreck their hand so badly that Vibrato is guaranteed to hit. Even if you leave them with just one card in hand you can use Through the Defenses to bypass it. Failing that just use KoF2006 or Ikari Warrior to make sure that they don't regain their hand.

Alternatively if you've got the Hoyoku-Sens then Promo Chun-Li combined with Hurricane Punishment would give you the 2 discarded attacks easily enough, though I'd still probably recommend Fio over her.

i dont have the hoyoku-sens so thats out of the question but KoF 06 is something i was thinking about when i was contemplating running fio plus with all the momentum generation i could run something for a secondary kill like sonic boom EXTRA or some other powerful attack

what do you guys think about remy is he a good character if you can get around his handsize? is he worth playing at all

Remy is a great character! Pre-bans he already T8'd at a Regional event. I ran him mono-Air and was quite happy with how he performed. He features a lot of Commital tech, so i played toward that: Chinese Boxing, Undercover Agent, etc..Supreme Rising Rage Flash is a good card!

Air/Death?

I'd say Tira, but that's probably bias. Tira's really, REALLY good. Fio is amazing herself, though - don't let anyone fool you, she's not "just a 7/19"; she'll eat you alive if she gets the chance.

Personally, I like Tira better because she's a more technical character, and has a few more tricks to her, insofar as the personality swapping goes. Fio can be very tricky, however; you could certainly make an argument that she's a one-trick pony, as she does only have one ability, but the thing to keep in mind is that she has about a billion different ways of combo'ing off of it. Hell, she baits Tag Alongs like nobody's business.

Fio = Basket of Tricks

Tira = Vanity

Id say go with Tira.

Fio took a huge it with the bans in losing LotM. She still has access to KoF and her support but from my experience that isnt enough to protect that 19 vitality.

Tira has more life a better finisher ability and has access to jolly/gloomy side if you want to utilize them.

IMO Remy is meh his attacks are good and is what his main appeal is but i just think his abilities are too situational and 6HS without card draw (Air/Death dont really have) stinks

go with tira. she is versatility and fio is power. versatility trumps power.

Tira gives you more raw damage output (the Multiple, potential T1 Vibratos, speedy Menuett Dance) whereas Fio (if you can get past Tag Along) removes the possibility of blocking completely.

@trane: I don't understand, could you explain what you mean? I kinda get why Fio is power (she nukes your hand), but I don't see where Tira is versitile -- she can gain life, or clear her pool, or make a multiple copy, and that's more options that Fio, but all of her abilities revolve around playing attacks first and leave a lot up to your opponent -- both her "Side" abilities require your attack to deal damage before anything happens, and her Multiple ability requires two moves to have already been played. If you want to, Fio can just do her ability as first form every turn, and continue building regularly if she gets shut down. Tira has to commit to an attack string before she starts to get things happening, and she does fairly little herself to help the damage get through.

yeah thats the only reason im a little concerned about tira.....she doesnt have enough in the way of ways to push though attacks...there is speed buffs like her asset but i like the idea of my opponent being handless and unable to block alot more

the thing about fio though is that she doesnt really have a way to protect her ability from form negation/Tag along and if it gets negated there goes your entire game plan

Tira and Fio do both have access to Inhuman Perception and Lesser of Many Evils.

And like what was already said, Fio can easily bait your opponent's Tag Along.
