M3-A repaints
Here are my 'BlackSun' Sycks. I'm not sure how I'm going to get the insignia of the syndicate on these guys...

Those look great, Gadge. Have you run a list with 4 Vets & Serissu? How did it go? I like the M3-A, but struggle to make them effective without spending a lot of points.
In the 'list build' section ive put an idea i have for a 'reverse howlswarm' list.
Basically
Serissu flying in formation with three 'veterans' (all these four have swarm tactics) and the last guy is a cartel spacer with a mangler cannon.
Basically as long as serissue stays alive thats 5 PS 8 M3as...
I'd like to see how it does.
I might be better off substituting the ST on everyone for stealth devices and keeping them close and hoping that 'evade' as an action , 4 green dice and a re-roll for them all makes them very slippery.
You know what though? The factory paint of the M3a is the worst model in the whole range. I bought two initially and never even considered flying them as they just look so wrong.
Not only does the colour scheme make them look like they should be in babylon 5 or something but its also like a 'ground attack' scheme andmakes no sense for space dogfighting and it doesnt even match any card art for characters!
As soon as i painted the olive drab parts grey/white they looked 1000 times better and i thought 'yeah i need more of these' ![]()

Mixed results with 5 scyks.
i run Serissu with four escorts. Originally i ran three 'spacers' , all with heavy upgrades and different cannon each (heavy laser, on one, then flechetter on another, ion on another) the fourth ship was a veteran with no upgrades.... oh and serissu had stealth.
Did really wel for first half of one game then i made the mistake of breaking formation and risking K turns, once you lose your evade action you're dead.. espeically withouth serissue to help make those saves happen.
second game today i wiped the floor with them against a 4 BTL4 Y wing list all with unhinged mechs and ion cannons, so much so my opponent conceded with his last ship intact.
I made sure they stayed in formation, attacked from range where they got extra cannon hit dice, didnt get a raneg penalty but return fire did. Had one or two turns up close but i powered out and returned to pick on one y wing at a time before breaking off
I lost one ship
But i had changed the list. I ditched the flechette cannon for a mangler cannon and gave the HLC carrier 'adrenaline rush' so he coudl 5k out and stil target lock for a killer shot (this worked really well)
To compensate for those changes i had to drop the PS5 veteran to a PS2 spacer but it made no difference as all my opponents ships were PS2, even though his list was 99 points so he got initiative i was still able to get my shots in .
My mangler cannon carrier was destoryed but his 'simulaeneous' return fire ripped the Y wing in front of him to pieces
I was very lucky, i think every red dice i rolled was a hit or a crit all game and my distance judgement was spot on so i was able to block him a lot.
