I finally got around to ordering a few more of my ships and now im stuck for paint ideas.

The Sentinel class in my mind is an older ship that is farmed out to local systems to take care of issues that do not require a star destroyer. As such it is sometimes claimed as lost by corrupt system governors and sold to pirates. The Imperials are ok with this to a certain point as they know the more people complain about piracy the more they will welcome the Empire with open arms once they get around to annexation.

My question is should i do it in Imperial plain or go for it and do something 'piratey'?
And if so what? So far it is just plain out of the box

Next the TIE Spectre. An experiment that was just too expensive to mass produce designed to make the Phantom even more effective.
So plain Empire or something different since it is rare and if used it is probably by a hotshot ace of some kind. Ive primed it but nothing else

Last the Starwing. Ive seen quite a few variant colour schemes and just cannot make up my mind. So far it has been primed but awaits some ideas. Im pleased with the way the variable wings came out, So i want to make it look good

Paint the corvette in traditional Imperial, with a huge pirate badge splashed over the bow.

I think that one of the prototype ships should be marked off with yellow/black caution areas, various bits that are replacements for the original part. Not slapdash stuff, but engineering prototype run 2, so "REV.2" stencils, reinforcement struts bolted on, stress points marked in red/white stripe tape, etc.

Not sure if my skills are up to the lvel of the prototype stencils and caution bars but i might give that a try. Sounds like it would look really good if i can do it

I think the TIE Spectre should be on the darker side of gray to show off its rare appearance/alpha development stages rather than the more tested and produced blue like the Phantom.

I agree with this. Those guys know their stuff and it won't be buried in 101 threads on Phantoms and IG-88's.
