Friends Forever!!!

By Stromboli, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

From the title of the thread, you might think that this is a thread about the famous song from Zach Morris and the Bayside gang (aka "The Zach Attack")... no, no, no, there will be no Kelly Kapowski, no Lisa Turtle, or Screech Powers....

This is all about our favorite scoundrel and his furry companion... Han and Chewie! I would have liked to get a little more blonde in Chewie's fur, but I might play with it a bit later.

...now, let's talk about Mr. Belding, shall we?

Awwwww! Best friends!

I to look at that first picture a few times, it looked like Chewie had a massive bowcaster, but on closer inspection, nope! That's a speeder bikE

Lovely stuff.

Can I ask what colours you've used for Han's trousers (or pants, if you prefer)?

Got mine winging their way to me through the post.

Thanks.

Those are exceptional.

I used to do pro-paint level commissions, just don't have the time and patience anymore to put the time in to get my models to that quality level anymore... I'm fine with tabletop quality.

I blended that colour myself.... and the original blue that I started mixing from is a basic dollar store craft paint. After 20 years in the hobby I've found that there are only a few colours, mettalics, and inks that dollar store paints are not good enough for. While I do use many many paints from Citadel (GW), Vallejo, and P3, I use alot of dollar store paints, paint fast, pump models out in a hurry and people seem to like the results.

It seems that here in the UK, we can't get hold of the cheap dollar store paints you're referring to sadly.

I've always used GW paints, but have recently started picking up more and more Vallejo paints.

Just pull up some reference pics and match a blue to it... or mix up the right shade. Another quick and easy trick is to use a lighter shade of blue, hit it with a strong tone wash to darken it, then paint the belt, red stripes, etc, and hit it all again with a soft tone wash. You can highlight/shade on that later.

Yes, I'm no stranger to miniature painting, just wondered on a colour match. Thanks for the feedback!
