Under siege questions

By Reiryc, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Played under siege but not sure I did it right.

I'm playing imps.

Mission token placement: am I correct in that I placed them on a + intersection between 4 squares?

If so, then am I also correct in that all four squares need to be cleared of any rebel hero units to capture that token?

Lastly, with heroes that can heal their endurance twice per activation (which could mean up to 10 points healed) how does anyone get this mission won in the time alotted while still losing imps to mak shots through the door and other heroes taking out imp units as they finally start breaking into the bunker?

I think you'll find it gets harder for them to *only* heal up. If you start to swarm them, all you have to do is wound them and they can't hold the token anymore. It's a balance, but if they don't attack the imps and start thinning them out, they won't be able to withstand all of the firepower if all they do is heal...

Seems easy enough, but definitely not a gimme...

I was thinking it was a full withdrawal to get the hero off the token to get it. Simple wounding could have done it. :/

Yeah, I'm pretty sure only healthy heroes can hold the tokens, but that's from my own memory - which is getting worse as years pile on...

Exact placement of the token itself is not that important, it merely marks the cardboard tile for which you are trying to control. There can be no healthy heroes on the tile itself (not just those four squares) for the imperial player to capture.

But isn't the exact placement important?

When I look at the campaign guide, I'm showing the token to sit in the middle of 4 squares. I take that to mean, that I have to keep healthy heroes out of all 4 squares. The rebel token doesn't sit in a single tile like a supply crate for instance.

This mean that hypothetically, the Heroes could park 2 healthy heroes in 2 out of the 4 possible squares which means the Imp player would need to wound both heroes in order to grab the rebel token.

Not really.

The mission rules state the tile is what is important, not the the token, not the squares adjacent to the token. There is no interaction or attribute test required for control, you just check at the end of the round. If there are imperials *and* no healthy heroes on the tile at the end of the round, the imperial capture the site.

The token is just there to mark the tiles which are "capture sites".

Ok, I admit I can be dense.

What tile are you talking about?

I don't see any single tile being referenced in the rules.

The cardboard puzzle pieces that make up the map are called "tiles". Each tile has a number on it. When the game references a "tile" they are referencing that single cardboard piece.

Under the mission briefing, the first bullet point mentions tiles twice.

If you look at the bottom of each mission, it gives you a list of the map tiles you use to assemble the map.

ok, not what I was thinking at all.

This makes more sense then... I just had to be on the game puzzle piece, not the tile (square) itself and get any/all heroes in that tile (room) wounded.

I totally played this wrong. Thanks for the clarification.
