Star Wars Rebels - The Ghost

That and it's an AU ship... let's stick to OT and EU ships please.

If by AU you mean Alternate Universe, you're wrong it's not, it's canon. The Ghost is in fact canon from the GCW period, so it's completely appropriate to put it into the game in terms of theme.

Which isn't a good enough of a reason itself to do it. But the above quote is not even a remotely good reason to not include it, even if the poster was correct.

I do mean Alternate Universe; it's basically the same as the Star Trek reboot in that respect. The new Disney stuff and the 30ish years of EU stuff do not belong to the same continuity, and thus is a different canon. This is true regardless of whether or not it has some sort of official stuff.

The Disney universe is an alternate canon to the Extended Universe, and is thus the Alternate Universe.

It is a valid reason for them not to include it, assuming you prefer the old EU canon to the new, weird AU canon.

Canon. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

The Disney universe is an alternate canon to the Extended Universe, and is thus the Alternate Universe.

You are either delusional or simply not worth paying attention to. Because as far as everyone is concerned the new Disney canon is canon, and not some sort of reboot.

If you can't accept that as a fact, then please don't bother posting to any more discussions about canon because all you do is make yourself look foolish when you claim the earth is flat, and the sun revolves around it.

Either I'm bad at communicating or others are being obtuse. Probably the first one.

Suffice it to say, the new Disney stuff has nothing to do with the EU. It has no effect on the universe as presented in those books and does not have any effect on that particular version of the Star Wars universe. It's over and done with and nothing Disney does now changes what came before. Both universes take the OT as a starting point (Disney adds in the Prequels and Clone Wars as their starting point) and then diverge.

Disney's changes aren't part of the EU canon, and the EU is only part of the Disney canon when it is convenient to Disney's writers to put it in. That's all I'm saying.

Does the Thrawn trilogy acknowledge the existence of the Rebels tv show? No. Do any of the other books before the change in ownership? No.

I don't like the Ghost or any other of the Disney ships for the same reason that some people don't like the TIE Defender or the E-wing.

Something I've thought about: the Ghost survives because it's highly maneuverable, and Hera gets a lot out of it. So:

Ghost (Unique title)(2 points)

Once per round, at the beginning of the combat phase, you may perform a barrel roll as a free action. If you do, you may remove a target lock.

Seems a bit odd. Are there any other cards that more or less directly duplicate the effect of another kind of card? I suppose Luke/Gunner do, but this is far better than Expert Handling.

2. The Crew cards would be very different

Ships don't have crew cards, they have crew slots you put crew cards in. And the slots are the same wherever you find them.

Correct... but you knew what I meant :)

Most of the good EPTs are "Pilot ability + Trigger/Condition"

For example :

Outmaneuver = Wedge + arc dodging

Push the Limit = Pilot!Vader + stress

Opportunist = (Pilot!Jan + {absence of enemy green}) self

Lone Wolf = Ibitsam - stress + > range 2 of friendlies.

Etc.

We have a 180 degree attack on the front

a dorsal Turret, and an auxillary rear arc, but these need to be staffed in order to make use of them. doing so would potentially grant up to 3 attacks, but not all at the same craft, and it would be costly to man all of those positions.

I think the auxiliary rear arc is due to the dorsal turret. So, I would say at most 2 shots.

I do like the Ghost title that prevents you from being TL.

My take on it would be that the chin turret is represented by the ship's primary weapon arc (front); the Phantom (if fitted) would provide a (rear) auxiliary firing arc. To differentiate it from other large ships, would be a Turret slot (representing the dorsal turret). So far, we have large ships with Missile slots, Torpedo slots, Cannon slots, Bomb slots... but no Turret slots... yet.

Perhaps one of the Crew cards would allow more than 1 shot per turn, like Corran Horn or BTL-A4 or Gunner?

True... I just feel that for the same cost getting action economy, no stress, barrel roll on a large ship (rather powerful), and removing a target lock is too good, even if it is unique and only usable on one specific ship type.

And clearly not paying attention to FFG. They seem pretty excited for Rebels content.

Please qualify this......

Chopper is not murderous enough to be true to the source

Chopper really should have some droid-killing special where he can remove an enemy's astromech if Ghost flies into base-to-base, or something, yeah. :)
