That style of space station - with slight differences in configuration - is from the SW:TOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) MMO, where it's used by both factions.
Anyone make a Space Station?
Brilliant, thanks heychadwick, appreciate the picture, those towers would work great on our space stations as I designed it to be a modular, upgradable build...looks like something else is going on the list!
Don't be outfaced with painting the station bud, a really easy method would be to spray it a light grey then just give it a black wash using oil based (enamels) paints and turps. simply thin the paint down to water consistency, splosh it on then dab it off with an old cloth leaving to dry in recessed areas. It's important to use the turps substitute as it dries off slower than white spirit and will prevent unsightly puddles and marks. If you like for an extra 'ping' line the high areas and edges with a light grey/white. In essence that's what I used on my space station, granted a few more advanced airbrushing but the wash/highlight technique was applied last and it should work just as well if a little more basic...go on, give it a go! ![]()
Thanks for the advice. It's not really a problem technically. It's a problem motivationally! Ever since I got out of the unpainted mini games, I've been enjoying my spare time. Well, that and I've got 2 kids that are of the age that they need to be driven everywhere all the time. Did I mention that it's summer swim team time? We have 3 nights a week of practice and 1 of a full on meet that goes from 6-10. Just finding the time to do it....and then the motivation during that time is the kicker.
Show me a pic when you get things done. I'd love to see it.
Edited by heychadwickI have also been working on another expansion set for the Space station we sell. This set turns it into a big beefy command post type base, stands nearly 12 inches tall!
pretty useful in a lot of systems, for instance I will be putting it to work in trek, Armada and Halo fleet battles in the future!
Fully backwards compatible with our previous upgrade sets too, I'm a gamer at heart and I love having OPTIONS! building different variants and making the rules for them is fun too!
The upgrade kit consists of the following, the lower arms simply slot over the little nubs and sit comfortably in place and if you take the time to pin or magnetise the upper structures they can be simply replaced as need be...magic!
Looks pretty cool!
card and some old bits from the spares box, simple straight lines and geometric shapes, you don't need to go crazy with the paint job, simple, cheap
**** yes. XQ Space Platform or GTFO!
