Best show on TV

By ShakeZoola72, in X-Wing Off-Topic

So what are your favorite TV shows and why? I'll Start.

#1 Game of Thrones followed closely by the Walking Dead with Aqua Aqua Show Show (Formerly aqua teen hunger force) as number three.

GoT grabbed me from the get go...the setting, the political maneuvering, backstabbing nobles, the fact that plot armor doesn't exist. So looking forward to this starting back up in 2 weeks!

WD love the lack of plot armor in this one as well...knowing your favorite character could be eaten at anytime really heightens the suspense. I also love this environment as well and the characters are memorable.

As for show number three...well my user name comes from that show...and I have loved the great master shake since I was in college...Jeeze is this show really that old?

For me it was Top Gear :(

Walking Dead is all over the place in how good it is. Its a very up and down show. Its either really good or really meh. So far this season has been really good.

GoT is awesome, but I fear they are going to get even further from the books as they move on. I don't mind a little deviation, but I think they'll be completely off the rails in this season. We'll see. Looking forward to it though.

Only thing I'm watching right now is ZZ Gundam if that counts.

GoT, followed immediately by Last Week Tonight. John Oliver is brilliant.

12 Monkeys is currently my favorite. A lot of shows I enjoy, but 12 Monkeys really has me hooked.

GoT is on the edge of falling off my to watch list, now that they're moving away from the books and focusing too much , imho, on gore and nudity.

These days I'd rather rewatch one of my favourites, in addition to things like House of Cards and Walking Dead.

Walking Dead

Big Bang Theory

12 monkeys

Castle

A bunch more but I'll have to go and look at the PVR

GoT

12 monkeys

Orange is the new black

House of cards

Hopefully The Expanse beats them all. The books are amazing and 12 monkeys is so good that I think Syfy may have turned over a new leaf.

I have house of cards in my instant que and Marco polo...I need to watch those...

Walking dead season 2 was horribly boring. I said to my wife at the start of one episode "I bet it is exactly 16 seconds before Rick's wife says 'we need to talk'!" The moment I finished that sentence she said it. We laughed. The drama her story arc created didn't belong in a show about surviving.

Check out Would I Lie to You and Was it Something I Said You can watch it on youtube.

Also enjoying Franklin and Bash at the moment.

I'm with you on "the walking dead". While a good show, the comics are better and i eventually even tired of those.

GoT, but I usually wait for the entire season to be released (dutch subs) over heer and then I'll binge watch it with my family.

I don't watch much tv these days...

So for my top 3 I think i'll go the tokusatsu route:

1. Kamen rider Gaim

2. Ressha sentai Toqger

3. Kamen rider Drive.

We are in an absolute golden age of TV shows at the moment.

However, I do like my comedies.

1) Arrested Development (hopefully netflix produces another season)

2) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

3) Archer

Not in any order.

Hannibal

Archer

GoT

The Americans

Agents of Shield

Ripper St

Yamato 2199 (ok. its dvd but it was on Tv in Japan)

3) Archer

The Netflix released season of AD was awful.

The Crocodile Hunter. Don't care that it's reruns, it's the only thing I actually see on TV these days that doesn't give me a headache.

Only thing I'm watching right now is ZZ Gundam if that counts.

Totally counts!

Doctor Who

Game of Thrones

Star Wars Rebels

The Walking Dead

Who'se line is it anyway?

And I'll include this even though it's kinda meh : Agents of SHIELD. I WANT so bad for it to rock. =(

Historic honorable mentions:

Firefly

Battlestar Galactica

ST: TNG

Scrubs

The Newsroom

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!!

We created a new software reporting package at work and called it Automatic Nightly Updated Standard Account Reporting Tool. We love when the ANUSTART splash screen pops up on install.

The Flash

Star Wars Rebels

Arrow

Agents of Shield

Castle

In that order.

The Flash is my favorite Superhero/Comic Book TV Series. It continues to impress me and keep me guessing while still remaining fairly true to the lore. They don't get his powers wrong thank goodness and while the series can take a few dark turns here and there it still remains bright and hopeful; I can't say the same for any recent Superman films.

LOL yeah, that wasn't a superman movie.. That was Mortal Kombat! :D

With me it's a tos up between The Flash and Green Lantern...and then Blackest Night gave us Blue Lantern Flash...

Superspeed and power ring? yes please!

Yeah, I am enjoying Flash. Tom Cavenaugh is doing an amazing job.

I felt it was more like Dragonball Z. The fighting was fast paced, you didn't see all of it, when they hit each other they created visible shockwaves and they cause wanton destruction. Short of screaming for 10 minutes while powering up, Man of Steel was the best live action DBZ movie ever.

Liked him ever since I first saw him on Scrubs.

I'd be inclined to say that ANY movie is a better DBZ movie than that live action abomination we got.

Now if you want an authentic DBZ movie it would be at least half an hour of the Z warrior getting wailed on by the bad guys while they are waiting for Goku to arrive. :D

To be fair i liked the fights in Man of Steel. And the fact he can't fly imediatly and he starts of with realy long jumps (golden age superman "he leaps tall buildings in a single bound".)

But that ending... (As Lex Luthor would say: "WROOOOOONG!")

No superman you are suposed to crush Zod's hand, not ***** his ****!

I'm going to have to reiterate 12 Monkeys. I'm trying to think of the last show where I tried to figure out the puzzle of the show like this.
