Emon with who?

By SDCC, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I was thinking that Emon with a Proton bomb could actually be pretty devastating for Fat Han and similar ships. Naturally it's a gamble to hope they get a bad crit, but hey, you are playing S&V, so a little risk is part of the description ;)

And I am still debating Kavil and one or two other ships to fly with Emon, or use a 2nd Firespray (Kath)...

I've had some good luck pairing Emon with an Aggressor or a pair of Y-Wings...

Neither really "optimized" but it sure is fun flying the Y-Wings like that... And it distracts some attention from Emon to let him get around to dropping bombs/mines...

is a single IG optimized? I think it definitely has the firepower to go toe to toe with most lists. Might have a little trouble with getting to fire on Fat Han, but not impossible if you fly well.

True, liking the Barrel Roll (with the breaking Target Locks) or Boosts to get places and it is mostly immune to 2 dice attacks at range... Yes, Fat Han is going to be very difficult to take down in a timed round certainly, but it will at least be interesting and this would be a build that he'll have to actually be pretty careful of I think... NOT a lot of Hull/Shields when it comes right down to it, and that does concern me a bit as the Firespray does tend to get taken down pretty easily by a lot of builds... The bomber version is fun and I do really like surprising folks with the odd throw distances (slingshot and Seismic drops) before the Firespray leaves the table...

I don't mind the idea of a single Aggressor. Your set up may not be optimal but it certainly adds damage. I'd probably modify your list like so:

IG-88C

Expert Handling 2

Accuracy Corrector 3

Autoblaster 5

Inertial Dampeners 1

Autothrusters 2

Emon Azzameen

K4 Security Droid 3

Proximity Mines 3

Proximity Mines 3

Proximity Mines 3

Andrasta 0

Experimental Interface 3

This would make Emon a threat with free target lock and the EI helps give him actions while sling-shoting. This IG build will always do 2 damage due to blaster / corrector combo and frees up action for movement.

Below is another list that I had. It ionizes and stresses and has loads of bombs.
