I have to fall in with the teleport group too. Look at the simple fact, the path that the ship takes is not the exact path of the movement tool. The path the ship takes is to the right or left of the movement tool. If the ship followed the exact path of the movement tool I would agree with you but it does not.

Think of it this way the movement tool may cross an asteroid and even end on an asteroid template but the final position of the ship will be to the left or right of the movement tool and very possibly off the asteroid template. So the actual path the ship took could very possibly never touch an obstacle template while the movement tool does.

Final position makes the most sense in this situation. And as there is nothing saying anything about the movement tool crossing an obstacle...

Not sure why you are still waiting for an official answer on this. As many people have said, the rules are very clear about this - you pick up the ship and then place it at the destination, there is no tracing its path. I don't understand why you would think otherwise?

Also, the rules state you can move through things without issue and that its only the end position that matters.

I am so confident avout this that if for some strange reason FFG reply and say otherwise, I will literally eat my VSD
