Dark Heresy PDF's

By Camojoe, in Dark Heresy

Hi,

New to this forum and did a quick search but did not get a hit on a search for 'PDF' etc.

I see on sites like RPGNow that FFG is publishing PDF copies of Warhammer, is there any official word on wether FFG will do the same for Dark Heresy?

probably after a while, Warhammer is pretty old and a lot of the books are out of print, DH is new and shiny so they probably want the books to stay selling.

Hmmm... not a matter of old games. You can still buy Warhammer FRP books.

I am thinking more of shipping costs etc. I am in South Africa for example and to get anything here costs a fortune - I dont mind paying the full amount or similar for a pdf.

I use a laptop etc. to run all my games - PDF's makes my life a lot easier, but I know that not everyone likes the idea of PDF's.

So it would be great if FFG made PDF versions available - I think it is a lot less hassle for them and they will not lose any money wether it is available in print or in PDF as they will cater for fans of both.

If it was for me, I bought the 1st print from Black Industries, the second print from FFG, I will buy the 3rd print if it contains the updated errata and I will buy the PDFs, especially if the contain the errata...

Not the earlier books, there are quite a few that are out of print now.

Basically it comes down to whether it is cost effective to FGG to do so, and it seems, currently, the answer is no.

I understand that FFG has their reasons - but it would be good for them to hear why fans of their games would also like access to other mediums. Would be great if we can all meet in the middle somewhere, or closer to it at least.

It is a pity - Not really cost effective for people that are a bit of the beaten track.

For example - Shipping for me starts at $40. To get all the books, besides the Core Book which I have (lucky purchase in the US last year) will be an additional $96 to the order of $170. (Never mind the ecological impact of shipping etc!!! *grin*)

As much as I like Dark Heresy... I just cant warrant for myself personally that additional cost.

I hope there are enough people out there that would also like to have the PDF's - whatever the reason - and that FFG would consider publishing Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader to PDF sooner than when everything is out of print or 2015 :-)

Trust me, people have been asking FFG for Dark Heresy PDFs since they got the license, they know the reasons people want them, they know there's quite a large section of the fanbase that wants them, and they'd probably be quite willing to do them at some point.

It is a shame, but as you said, it's not cost effective to do it for people off the beaten track, because not many people who roleplay are in the situation you are in, where it costs hundreds of dollars for the books.

Have you tried ordering from a Europeam retailer, such as Amazon.co.k or leisuregames.com? I know leisuregames' shipping costs aren't usually too bad.

are you a plenetary governor? then why would you want a planetary defense force? gran_risa.gif

So... how many Insanity Points are we talking here? cool.gif

at least 200 quite possibly 600.

I would settle with a PDF of the player handouts for every adventure they publish.
