We've played this scenario several times and enjoyed it, but need clarification on the Grman victory conditions regarding forces required to exit the board. The scenarion states "...if at least two Panzer IVs and/or German squads have exited the board...". Is the German side required to exit: (a) only 2 panzer IVs (b) 2 panzers plus two squads or © only two squads in order to meet the victory conditions?
Designer Series: Twin Villages: Victory Conditions
I think I should amplify the information included in my original posting. The scenario's objective for the Germans has two parts. Quote: "At the end of a round, the Germans win if they control the bridge hex and if at least two Panzer IVs and/or German squads have exited the board from the blue shaded hexes." Are the Germans required to exit four units (two panzers AND two squads) or only two (two panzers OR two squads)? Appreciate all feedback.
Either 2 pz OR 2 squards.
Where it might get a bit iffy if it One Pz and One Squad has exited......
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to the posting.
So in your opinion, "The Twin Villages" scenario objective on page 7 of "The Designer Series" Volume One, should read:
"At the end of a round, the Germans win if they control the bridge hex and if at least two Panzer IVs or two German Squads have exited the board from the blue shaded hexes."?
yes - that would be how I read it.

No. I think it is quite clear the German needs to escape with two UNITS - either two panzers, two squads or one panzer and a squad - otherwise the "AND" in the victory condition would be meaningless.
"The scenarion states "...if at least two Panzer IVs AND/or German squads have exited the board..."
I can easily see your point and list that as an option for consideration in resolving the issue. After thinking about the discussion and suggestions so far, including the mixed squad option, I went back and reread the background information. One of the great things about this scenarion is that it was desined by a serious historian who is also a successful game designer and a player. I hesitate to go where angels fear to tread (on this designers toes) and therefore predicate this posting with humbleness.
Due to the wording, any of the options posed by the "and/or" can be used based on the players' prior agreement. Reading the backgrounder though, this tactical fight was forced on the Germans by an operational failure to break the Americans by an opening assault of a German infantry division. The German strategic plan is is to recreate France 1940 and slash their way to the coast. It is based on a tight timeline. If American units can disrupt the German SOA, the plan might fall apart. The operational need for the Germans is to batter their way thru the small American force and advance quickly into the Americans rear areas before the Allies can recover command, control and initiative and thus organize a defense followed by counter attack. Therefore, within the spirit of the scenarios strategic context, the Germans need to exit with motorized units...panzers and/or panzergrenadiers. If unmotorized infantry exit, the Germans are still in danger of missing their goal. My solution would be to allow an either/or option, but if a mixed unit (armor and infantry) victory condition is chosen, the infantry must exit in half tracks. Considering the strategic/operation context within which this scenarion is framed, I would even suggest requiring all infantry exiting be motorized. That's just my opinion. I would love to hear from the original designer regarding his thoughts on the question. This scenario poses many interesting problems for both sides.

You are most likely right.
Received a response back from the designer via Rob Kouba at FFG. In addition to taking the bridge, the exiting units must be either two panzers or two squads...no mix and matching.
Thanks for posting. Just bad wording then. Should be OR not and/or.
