Roll of the century but a close fought loss

By VaultDweller, in Star Wars: Armada

Maybe the title is a bit overkill but it was an excellent roll. Here's the set-up:

  1. Played learn to play scenario.
  2. I played the Imperials.
  3. After 5 turns I manage to get a full front shot at the Nebulon-B side with zero shields left
  4. Roll 6 dice. 7 hits including one critical!
  5. Scratch one Nebulon-B.

We decided to play until all ships were destroyed so I ultimately lost while trying to turn the lumbering Victory and the back edge of the base went 1/32" off the FFG Death Star playmat. 1/32"!

What else did I learn?

  1. Standard TIE's almost useless without initiative.
  2. The Victory can still hand out decent damage from the sides.
  3. Repair is your friend.
  4. Having a concentrate fire at the exact right time is very fun.
  5. Rebel players should stay away from the front of Victory.

But not

6. The metric system

Clearly ;-)

Metric - that's classic. Here's the conversion.
