Pinned MG in op fire and Desperation card in fan-made "Medal of Honor" scenario

I've played Kyle Hawes's Medal of Honor scenario (http://app.fantasyflightgames.com/cgi-bin/quests/quest.cgi?command=comment&game=toi&scenario=2008091820432946631&admin_id=0) with a friend tonight, and won rather confortably with the Americans, mainly due to dice luck... and that damned "Shaken defenders" card ! :)

However, the following situation happened rather regularly :

My German opponent set up his only MG in op fire in a building. Taking advantage of the "shaken defenders" card (= no terrain cover VS suppression), I crossed the board by suppressive-firing at the MG and other op-fire units and then moving.

If I understood the rules properly, any squad in op-fire that gets at least pinned by suppressive fire loses its op-fire capability and gets immediately fatigued, right (question 0) ? And a fresh pinned squad can neither fire, move and take special action. Does that imply it cannot be put in op-fire as well (question 1) ? That's what I think.

The only exception is if an officer (= with the "Rally" ability) is in the same hex, which then allows the fresh pinned unit to be activated with a Concentrated dire at 50% firepower.

My opponent has the Desperation card, which allows him to put an already fatigued unit in op-fire. The card says nothing about the unit NOT having to be pinned, so is it legal to put a fatigued pinned unit in op-fire this way (question 2) ? If yes, one may argue that although in op-fire, it still couldn't fire, as the pinned condition prevents firing. But what if an officer is in the same hex ? Can the unit then fire (logic would dictate at 50% firepower though) (question 3) ?

I answered yes to question 0, and no to question 1, 2 and 3. But that made my work so easy in that scenario : with a bit of luck, I only had to score ONE suppressive hit (SO EASY with the "Shaken defenders" card !!!) to almost completely silence the german defending squads, and then moving the rest of my squads, as I outnumbered my ennemy... but this ease looked more an more suspicious during the game... what do you think ? Did we do something wrong ?

My take on it would be that:

0: you are right. When pinned the unit in OP-fire also becomes fatigued.

1-3: I would consider it impossible for a pinned unit in OP-fire to fire, even with an officer present. This keeps the effect that pinned units may Only perform the Fatigue action, or the Concentrated fire action if an officer is present. Simple to remember.

On the other hand, there is no need to put that MG somewhere where you can shoot at it at will, and the other squads should not use OP-fire often.
