Tower of The Hand Chapter pack

By Dobbler, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

According to an update on the "upcoming" section of the FFG page, the Tower of the Hand Chapter pack is now shipping. When people start receiving it, can you post spoilers here? Thanks.

Well, I haven't heard from my distributors (or FFG) about the ship out date, though FFG did say that Kings of the Sea should be shipping to distributors this week. I'll keep you posted.

Although, and I don't know if anyone else said this, but one of the upcoming CPs (the fifth one?) had an ad in Game Trade magazine, and two of the three spoiled cards were the Red Viper and Daemon Blackfyre (hope I got the spelling right). No text, just names and pictures. The third card was an event called "The Viper's Revenge."

Is Daemon Blackfyre neutral, or house Targ? And how is the art?

Sounds like I can't wait for the fifth (?) pack to hurry up and be here then.

And on the original topic, no word from my store's distributor about the ship date for the Tower of the Hand pack just yet. But we've been pretty fortunate with getting things on time/quickly.

It looks like the Greyjoy expansion also just got updated as to be in the "shipping" process.

Yay!

Alright, dug out the add. They are from the "Tales from the Red Keep" chapter pack. Daemon Blackfyre is Targ. 4 gold, 4 Str, Military icon, possibly Power but definitely not Intrigue. His entire text box is covered, including the corner where the POW icon owuld be. I like the artwork -- Daemon is knelt forward, riddled with arrows and holding his black dragon on red banner. Having recently read The Sworn Sword I have more appreciation for this character (though my wife thinks it is blasphemy to print these "older" cards).

The Red Viper is 5 gold, 4 Str and most likely a tri-con as we have yet to see one that isn't. He has the Lord trait and the noble crest. I can make out three words on his card. As they appear, they are "genda," "ponse:" and "d, kill." I am assuming the first part is "If you are not running an Agenda, The Red Viper gains Repsonse:", and when the response effect is triggered he gets to kill a character. If you are running this character with an agenda, his is most likely too expensive (5 gold for a 4 str tri-con? Even HoTh Tywin also got 2 influence), but agenda-less the ability to kill a character could be very handy. And I doubt it has anything to do with "after an event is played" mechanics, or that would be incredibly brutal. The artwork is the Viper holding a spear lengthwise in front of him, the end raised over what could be a brazier of saucer of poison -- hard to say which

Probably: Response: If it is summer and there are cards in the shadows... after you lose a challenge as the defender, pay 2 gold to kill a character.

Something like that... I mean that at least is sort of the martel template one is expecting in kle after looking at stark.

sounds in keeping with the ridiculousness of the past red vipers. i know you probably would have mentioned them if you could see them, but -- any keywords (or at least space for keywords)?

Now that I think about it... it would be rather cool to build a "Legends" deck. Daemon, Rhaegar, Dayne, Hightower, Barristan Selmy...

They did print the tower of joy as well.

Hey... new demo decks? Stark vs. Targ battle at the tower of joy?

The agenda restriction is probably so that you can't use him with treaty of the South. its good and bad. Its babd becuase it makes the trwaty even more of a joke. Its good because it rewards you for building a house martell deck (and might be able to do so before the expansion, maybe maybe....probably not....location packs!!!!).

I'm surprised they never released a martel summer reducer like they did for Baratheon. It would have helped the situation.

You guys are speculating on cards you can barely read in an ad for a product that hasn't released yet. Is it really that bad? Maybe we should discuss current cards instead?

Speculation is more fun.

~ Sides you're just trying to get hope that Bara can actually win on the 18th :-P. I do not fear the Stag nor it's fury... and you shall not pass!

we are. join us .

@Stag: I don't think you realize how much I want some unique Martells. :-) I've been speculating since well before we even had a tiny picture in a preview for a set that is months away. This is fun too!

@JJ: ...Don't suppose you have a scanner or a digital camera you could use to get me a picture of, if nothing else, the artwork on the Red Viper? I'm thinking its going to be hard to top Henning Ludvigsen's 5KE art, and I'd be really curious to see it.

5G/4STR isn't bad, better than the 5G/3STR from ITE. Hopefully the ability isn't too situational to set up.

If he has renown, the ability will be moot.

I saw the same add for the Red Viper and the "...onse:" text was on the far right side making it quite possible that it is a Limited Response.
