It might be a mistake and the item description is a little weird (It's labeled as a book), but the Core Set appears to be only 9.95 and has a "Pre-order Price Guarantee" so it's probably worth ordering.

Well my LGS is mad cuz I cancelled my order of 4 boxes and ordered 6 from Amazon at their prices. But oh well I am getting a hell of a deal!
I heard that amazon can change their price at last minute so maybe we need to do a bit more investigation into their pre-order policy.

This came up just as the old boards were going under, and cannon (whom I haven't seen on here yet) said they do this all the time for other games and they simply cancel the pre-orders and reset the price to its proper level, or offer the people who pre-ordered the chance to get them at the actual price. Either way, it didn't sound like they would honor the pre-order price despite their Pre-order price guarantee

I don't see anywhere that they can change the price on us once we order. If they do I'm going to raise a fuss.

On Amazon.ca, the same ISBN 1589944747 actually shows an Asylum Pack, not the core set.

I did place a preorder, received no notice from amazon.com, noticed the price changed, went under my account and found no mention of a pre-order or order. My guess is that they wiped away the old preorders when the price changed.
my order is still there with a notice that it wont arrive before the 25th (duh its not even released yet) but the invoice has them listed at 9.95 plus the shipping and all.
My Amazon account says exactly the same thing as pearljamaholic's.
What do you bet they ship us the asylum packs instead of the core set, and the we have a giant, months-long snafu trying to get the problem sorted out ??

i dont know if you click the link in the invoice it takes you to the item page where they are now listed as 39.95. i think we might get lucky on this.
Yeah, but read the description of the item now, it is for one of the asylum packs. Something is fishy here. Murphy's law says you will get luck because I didn't get my pre-order placed in time.

I think the above says it all...seeing as the Core Set is none of the above.
I've still got a couple on order from Amazon on the off-chance. Luckily, I also ordered from IGUK here in the UK at £8.49 (around $12) and received it today. So they at least honoured the original prices although they have now upped them to £27.49 (around $40). I count myself lucky.
Estimated shipping date for the Amazon copies is now January 5th.
My order at the ridiculously cheap price is still apparently operational.

They still have this deal going on Overstock.com. I just ordered one yesterday and it says it is the core set in the description. So hopefully, I get what I think I am ordering, heh.
