**Yang** mono Fire beatz!

By Rockstar2, in UFS Deck Building

So with all the banz and errataz i've really been feeling like this game has been moving back to itz rootz! So, i wanted to go back to mine and build the kind of deck that got me into this game in the first place: fast-paced aggression that lays the opponent to rest by T2.

Would love any feedback and comments, as this deck is still in its early phases...Thank you all in advance for reading and commenting!

1x 6/6 2.Yang 7hs 19vp

Actions (7):

4x 2/5 KFT +1m

3x 3/5 Willful +2h

Assets (4):

2x 2/5 Path of the Master +2m

2x 2/5 Yang's Sneaker's +2m

Attacks (14):

4x 5/3 Knight Breaker 3h5 +0h

4x 4/3 Senkyutai 5m3 +3L

3x 4/3 Midnight Launcher 3h7

3x 4/2 Cobra Blow +1L

Foundations (34):

4x 1/6 Blinding Rage +1m

3x 3/5 Enraged Golem

4x 2/5 Bounce Back +2m

3x 2/5 Stand Off +3m

3x 2/5 Intimidating Presence

4x 1/5 Adoration +2m

3x 1/5 White Magic +3m

3x 0/5 Hope for One's People +3h

3x 2/4 Fight or Flight +2m

4x 1/4 Manifest Destiny +1L

So, yea...pretty straight fwd Fire Beatz! What makes 2.Yang precious is his ability to boost spd, sure. But, his ability to negate dmg redux is wicked!

Senkyutai + Cobra Blow is main kill condition. Senkyutai + Launcher + Breaker is secondary kill. And, both can go off T2 depending set-up.

Would also like suggestions from people about what they might consider a mulligan condition in this deck. Haven't really found yet, as Yang's 7HS means i pretty much draw into kill by T2.

Thanks again in advance for looking this over. I still might integrate more Death cards, but i thought i would start off with some classic beatz first. gran_risa.gif

I say the hells with splashing Death (if it's not absolutely necessary, that is)! Fire Beatz FTW!

I would say the only real mulligan condition I would encounter here is <4 foundations, because tossing 4 diff, 5 diff, 7 diff and having them pack enough speed to punch through and enough muscle to end the game will be tough when you only have 3 or less foundations out (you'd need 2 straight 5's on the tail end of the combo, and it would be nice to check a Blinding Rage for Knight Breaker gran_risa.gif ).

One quick question: why is Path of the Master there? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only use you have for it is drawing a card off Knight Breaker's E, because I don't see any other symbol-specific effects there (and you can play that E anyway; you have the Death resource symbol). So I'm not sure you're milking those 2 spaces for what they're worth. Maybe you should let it go in favor of something like Amy's Assistance or Family Heirloom, which pack asset-breaking tech, for which I only see Hope for One's People as an answer (Amy's also safeguards your squishy 19 vitality). I'd make room for both Amy's and Family Heirloom, but that's just me.

Any use for momentum or white magic just there as a vanilla 1/5? Id replace it with empires ruin if thats the case...maybe something im missing though, its early :P

Edit: Duh senkuy....

If you wanted it to be more "pound face" but definately less "tech" replace white magic with empires ruin, senk with Hades Ax 4/3 3m5 and Knight Breaker with dragons flame. Flame does has basically same combo E as Knight Breaker but does dmg of the WHOLE card pool, not just preciding card. It also has a dmg pump built in. In a non-evil deck i like dragons flame more than knight breaker, especially against opponents with 6HS/26VIT (geez who can i mean there).

This weekend we will put your aggro to the test of my control! Good thing im not running BRTs with those willfuls maindecked, lol.

The way I see it, you don't need Empire's Ruin much with Yang's E. And Senkyutai burns up momentum to cancel out annoying responses, such as Tag Along. And hey, free R is free.

Thanks for the comments, y'all! Fire beatz is fun stuff, fo sho!

@ LordAggro -- Path of the Master is in there because it provides extra damage pump based on the number of symbols on cards in your card pool that match your character. So, on a KB combo you're talking about an extra +7dmg, pretty considerable. And, you're right, i only get to draw an extra 1 card when KB is played, but it also has nice stats, so... Unfortunately, i only have 1 copy of Family Heirloom, otherwise i would certainly run them. Amy's Assistance is an amazing card. What might you take out of the current line up to make room? I'm taking into consideration that my deck is geared to be very offense-minded, and that Amy's runs a 4-check which *might* hurt the deck's overall checks. Thoughts??

@Smazzurco -- White Magic fuels Senkyutai's static text, which negates any R's played during the card's activity. Seriously, Senkyutai is a great card that seems to have been forgotten about since our current block no longer features Unrequited Love and Deceptive Look. But, yea, it also is easily spammable because of it's 1/5 stats.

@Smazzurco -- i think i traded you all my Dragon Flames. lolz! But, yea, we'll see how well my Aggro can stand up to your Control this Sunday. It's on! gran_risa.gif

I did not know that, now I want me some Path of the Master... babeo.gif

As far as taking something out for Amy's Assistance, the only card I can really think of is Hope for One's People. The stats are nice, sure, but it's pretty much a vanilla 0/5 foundation 'till you get hit for 10+ damage, and Amy's can help your kill punch through RIGHT NOW. I'm not 100% on it, so I'd test it out if I were you, to see if the increase in diff and decrease in CC hurt you a lot.

Hooked up with my buddy, Smazzurco today at Epic Adventure Games in Santa Cruz, CA...no big tourney, just some hang time and play-testing. Didn't have any other deck than this one, and i played vs his "fun deck": Life-gain Juni who abused some nifty tech out of Chaos Flare and Searching For a Real Challenge. And, i also got a taste of his Death Victor deck which runs that Darkness Blade/Reanimated jank.

Finished 2 - 1 vs Juni as her Life Gain is nutz! and...

Finished 2 - 1 vs Victor, which is a heavy heavy Control deck.

After that, we just hung out, talked cards and did some trading.

I must confess that i'm very pleased with how well Yang performed today. I know there is a lot more testing that needs to ensue, but Yang had T2 kills vs both decks, and even managed to pull a long game win vs Victor. Senkyutai + Momentum is boss! Coupled with Cobra Blow and Midnight Launcher and Knight Breaker, i felt confident about Yang's kill potential each match. There wasn't one game where i felt like i would come up short on my Kill.

I think there is another variation on this deck i'm going to tinker with, but for the moment...yea, i'm happy that Aggro seems to have a chance to make some real noise on a competitive level. Guess we'll just have to see...
