Silly question,

As far as commands go, you basically reveal your dial and resolve that dial when appropriate that turn or you use an existing token that turn (i.e. a ship only resolves one command per turn). One command per turn per ship, yeah?

Yes and no.

You can from what I can see:

1) Use the Command dial to perform the Command dial action
2) Combine the Command Dial with a command token to perform a single action (Page 4 of the Rules Reference)
3) Use the command dial to acquire a command token that matches the command dial. (To the max of your Ships command, and you canot have a duplicate command token)

So you could use your command dial Navigate to move, and your command token repair to replenish a shield.

My Victory I used its Repair command on the dial, squadron command token, concentrate fire token, and navigate token in the same turn. Tarkin was angry.

Yes. It is in the rules reference.

Remember, a spent dial has a greater effect than a token. If you revel a dial, and bank that as a token for later use, the effect is diminished.

When it comes to effects like Engine Tech can the trigger be a token or does it have to be a dial?

If it has a command icon and a colon, it basically means "when resolving that action." Spending a token, spending a dial, or spending both together are all "resolving an action."

heres a question in the similiar vein, at what point do you have to establish your next command? Is it as soon as you expend your command dial? Or at the end of the ships phase? any idea?

Command phase, which is right before the ship phase, where she ships get activated.
