Adversary Decks in the UK

By RebelDave, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Anyone know where I can get the Adversary decks in the UK?

Ive checked Amazon, and IGUK and done a google search, and noone seems to stock them.

Any ideas?

Nope. And annoyingly everywhere seems to stock the (arguably) less useful specialisation decks.

I have a friend that runs a hobby/game store and he can't get them (even in the US). They're made by FFG's in-house print-on-demand, so I think that's the only way to get them. Can you not order direct from FFG or is the shipping cost nightmarish?

Shipping costs pretty much equal the cost of the cards.

£30 approx total for the lot........ which is kinda steep for my pay grade

I think I ended up buying them from eBay. The shipping was a bit it was about $30 for all the decks and $15 for the total shipping.

When I chose to buy one it was like $10 shipping which was lame but only cost an additional $2 or something for each extra deck.

But it says 37-44 business days for the cards to get here or maybe it was just for them to start shipping, anyway I think it waill be some time till you see my review of the cards

I definitely reckon the adversary decks are a lot more useful than specialization decks some characters won't even live long enough for their specialization, though I guess PCs generally wouldn't buy the adversary decks and GMs already have a lotto buy so sadly I guess it makes sense they are less common.

Some of the online stores in the UK offer free postage, but the two I know of are rather prone to poor communication of availabililty and delivery.

Which reminds me, I have to get my weekly email - "When is it coming?" - sent off.

Well, they're available from Coolstuffinc at 21% off the retail cost, but the shipping to the UK is $26+ USD (calculated for London shipping all 3 decks). How bad do you want them?

The 3 decks combined weigh less than 5 ounces and would fit in a 9"x12" padded envelope laying flat side-to-side, but shipping priority/express is outrageously expensive. If you had people you trusted in the US, they could send it to you via First-Class Mail® International Large Envelope for around $6 USD.

It's a bit mental that I can't get these in the UK anywhere . CoolStuffInc have them in the US, but I'd end up paying $30 on top of a $17 order.

I got the last one I was missing from Games Quest in the uk. It might be worth trying them.

In my experience, the big deal with shipping from the US is not so much the cost, it’s the time. It can take months to get things through the customs process.

And that’s assuming they get through at all.

Even with a trusted friend on the other side, there are some barriers that are hard to get through.

That is, unless you happen to know someone who frequently travels from the US to the UK, and would be willing to put an envelope in their bag before they leave, and then drop that off in the post when they arrive.

Nope (to above) maybe there's a restock stuck between the US and the rest of Europe... but why an influx of specialisation decks?

Would absolutely love a version done on ships!

I tried this Site it worked out about $35 more expenses than getting the items straight from FF :(

Yeah, Leisure Games is usually my first port of call, but they sold out of the Adversary Deck within the first week (not surprisingly with their usefulness). When I inquired about re-stock I was informed that with a lot of the Print on Demand cards, FFG will do one big shipment to the UK, but then that's it (FFG want to clarify this?). Ended up having to order direct from states, shipping cost the same as all three decks as Rebel Dave said, though I found they took about two weeks to arrive (the same for art card sleeves, so at least consistent).

Check to see how much it would be to order a bunch, say 10. Sell them on eBay to folks in the UK, try to make enough to at least cover the cost of the lot (go for some profit), and keep one for yourself.

Glad I'm not the only one out there struggling with this. Dare I ask... are there enough of us to try some kind of bulk order followed by redistribution UK side? That's NOT me volunteering to organise mind you... ;)

I was gonna reccomend a swedish site that also ships to the UK, but despite having bought the "scum and villainy" pack from there, they are no longer in their stock.

Not marked as "out of stock", but actually removed from the site entirely (making me believe that there will be no more shipments).

This sucks, since I loved the scum and villainy pack and would have loved to buy the others too.

But, I guess if FFG doesn't want us to buy them, I'll have to live with that. (because I'm sure as hell not going to order them from the states)

Just spotted this thread.... Currently having the same problem! Has anybody actually managed to get hold of these yet in the UK?

https://shinygames.uk/ had 2 in stock last time and I bought them last month.

Just a heads up for anyone still after these... Shiny Games UK have them available! I got an email from one of their employees yesterday letting me know they're in!! Now that's what I call good customer service!!

Not sure how many they've got so get on that website fast if u want em :)

I just managed to order three of the decks from them - Citizens of the Galaxy, Imperials & Rebels and Scum & Villainy, all of which are still shown as in stock.

The Card Sets are always a pain to get and very much down to getting a lucky break. :)
