i think FFG wants to give Armada some time to shine in the sun before announcing more x wing news to keep the hype up long enough to get people to buy into it

That would work if Wave 1 had launched along with the Core like it was supposed to... Different missions are interesting, but the game is pretty bare bones as it is. "Do I want some Victory Class with Ties? ...or some Victory Class with Ties? Hmmm." Me and my friends are holding off playing more games until the first wave comes out. Squadron variation is a huge necessity at the moment.

So, instead, we're really just wishing for some Imperial Raider news or the next wave.

We just had new FAQs that explained the S&V cards, changed Turn 0, banned table matts, and most significantly nerfed Phantoms!

I'm holding off until wave 3 or so myself even with wave one your options still appear limited, new cards for your core set ships, the gladiator, a ship I've never encountered before and have no real emotional investment in and the assault frigate that I vaguely remember from Supremacy (Rebellion for you non tea drinkers) as a waste of resources. Wave 2 is better on the old emotional investment front I guess but still not where I want it to be.

I guess I am hoping that we get to put some escort carriers/strike cruisers/Nebulon B-2's/lancers on the table to make it look like a fleet game

The Assault Frigate Mk II wasn't even in Rebellion. Rebellion had the MK I, which looks like a Dreadnaught Cruiser and a Nebulon B had a baby. The Mk II was only in Empire at War the RTS. Kind of surprised they went with the Mk II design as it isn't as widely known (and its uglier).

hopefully you're not a competitive player. because waiting that long will put you far behind the learning curve that armada requires. while everyone that plays consistently will have a solid grasp about what to do and when to do it, you'd be stuck in the learning phase for a while

that said i've only got a core set to start and i don't really find the game all that stale. there are upgrades as well to tinker around with and once wave 1 hits there is going to be some pretty decent list variations out there i'm sure. X-wing wave 1 consisted of tie swarm lists vs x-wings that sometimes included a Y-wing or 2. that was about it really. but it was still pretty fun

well i tested the demo of armada in our store i think its meh.. even with 2 armada core sets. its meh... well i hope that the expansions will bring out the true strenght of armada. fun fact there are not enough dices in the core set to play the demo mission ;P..

still iam waiting and maybe but maybe if i see potential iam going to buy it. so far X-wing and imperial assault are amazing.

Question to those that have been around x-wing awhile. When was the las time there was so little info? We have our new FAQ to match the latest wave. we have zero idea of the next wave. And only one expansion in the wings that has had its most anticipated cards spoilded. Personally I don't like having stuff spoiled 7 months out but a taste of something would be nice.
