Most of us allways question the Star wars sizes and acales, wich is the right mesures for the Tie Figher, per example... Is the Y-Wing so large ???

Well... I made some research, only based on the screen shots from Star wars Episode IV, and ILM references. What I gain, for my surprise is that the Tie Fighter is much bigger than most of the scale models presented by respected manufactures as Fine Molds and F-Toys (for my sadness).

So the mesures from FF X-Wing Miniatures Game models, are the right ones.

Per example: When you see the Tie Fighter on Star Wars Rebels, with three guys inside it, well... is bigger. And the SWR series is based on ILM archives mesures and materials as well.

Yeah, the scale and the shape throw me off in this game because they're accurate, and I'm used to X-wing, TIE Fighter, X-wing vs TIE fighter, etc, where I feel like the shape and size are slightly distorted.

It is SO much better than STAW.

The back of the rulebook has an article about the effort that FFG expended to get the scale right. It has surprised a lot of people, especially regarding the HWK-290.

Scales on Star Wars ships will always be a subject of some debate since LucasFilm often just made a model and didn't always bother with pesky details like the actual size. That said, FFG seems to have done a better job than most in staying true to the original models.

I'll forgive a bit of scale fudging if they just make the Rogue Shadow already...

The big problem is that the original props weren't consistently scaled to each other. The FFG ones are "right" but the original A-wing vs. everything else is the wrong size if we compare the cockpit to the other ships' cockpits.
