When it comes to using the Start of Combat Phase triggers for a Pablo Hidalgo(Palob Godalhi) equipped with the Bodyguard EPT, do you have to go into the triggering timing with the token already, or can you wait till Pablo resolves his Pilot Ability, then use a token taken with it to activate Bodyguard. I feel like this wold have a similar timing to AdvSens and (almost) old de-cloaking, where if you didnt have the token to remove to decloak with, AdvSens while able to get you one, happened after the timing trigger. Thoughts?
Timing of Pablo and Bodyguard
Both abilities trigger at the same time so you may choose the order. Ideally, Pablo steals the token then uses it via Bodyguard.

Took me a couple minutes to look up the text for the relevant abilities, but that is my take on it as well.
I suppose it could work the other way as long as you've got a focus token at the start of the Combat phase. Spend it to Bodyguard a friendly ship, then steal a replacement for yourself.
Okay cool. I was afraid this was going to be one of those where it was supposed to work one way(That you can steal it then use it) but RAW you couldn't due to timing concerns. Thanks guys!
You get to resolve all of your "At the start of combat phase" abilities any order you want. If your opponent also has abilities with that trigger, the player with initiative completes all of theirs first.
The arrangement of the resolutions wasn't the concern, just the requirements of the trigger and cost. I'm liking scums shenanigans. They get me in my Magic player heritage ![]()
