Across the ocean to play UFS... :D

By Viewtiful_Joe, in UFS General Discussion

So some of us Britain-ites are planning to come to fair ol' Indiana to come play in what I hear is a small tournament happening at Gencon. We'd like to see what your last place prize is like :3

But yeah, just wanted to see how many people were planning on going to Worlds and what fun-ness we have to expect from you guys across the water. :D

There'll probably be about 3 or 4 of us coming which include myself, Matt Hewitt (who you guys already know) and Zangetsu (who isn't much of a forum go-er, but is as well known an UFS player as Matt or myself in the UK). We may also have Speedsta from the forums joining us, who will undoubtedly make the trip even more fun for those of us already going, but we need to confirm this all first.

Very excited to meet you all in person, can't wait for (hopefully drunken) fun in the States :D

myself and scuba from the fort myers plaaygroup will be there, lookin forward to meeting you guys and playing against you! have a safe flight over

My plane ticket is booked.

I really look forward to seeing everybody I have already made acquaintances with and meeting everybody I have not met for the first time. I really do hope people seek me out and stroke my ego a bit.

I also look forward to taking that last place prize away from you.

You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours, so to speak :P

No, seriously, it'll be great to finally be able to put faces to the names on the forums. Any idea on player numbers, as of yet? I know it's early days, and we'll be coming regardless. I'm just curious :D

well whatever that number is you can add 4 to it because there are some of us coming from our small playgroup in blacksburg even if our hotel is 11 miles away from the convention lol

don't come here, we smell.

go team uk bring it back for us.

Try not to misplay as much as i did and have a fantasic time. (we want photos and giant doughnuts)

Our hotel is 8 miles from the convention. Getting a taxi twice a day is so much fun... :9

Oh well the convention will be great though.

I'm so glad my dad only lives an hour south of Indy. Not to mention the drive in is all highway straight to the Lucas Oil Stadium or whatever it is.

you won't be too busy playing MtG to meet us people will you arch? :)

You limey, tea-drinking bastards.

I'll be there.

Limies -_-

I'll say this much, if I actually manage to go to Worlds this year, the first pint o'bitter will be on me.

I'll hold you to that ;) (so long as you don't mind me being a big girl and drinking something other than beer :P )

I actually loathe beer. Everytime I'm coaxed into trying a new brand, I'm much like Charlie Brown; smart, and know better, yet always fall for it anyways, and am always disappointed =/

I drink pretty much anything mixed, and as we all know Smirnoff is our friend =D

Agreed ;)

Oh god, I'm gonna end up drunk for Worlds, aren't I...? This could be very interesting...

This is gonna be awesome.

Joe + our group + ATL = wtf happened last night

You are a bitter, bitter person.

I do not intend on playing a single game of Magic while I am at worlds.

I'll be bringing mine, along with my PSP and all the games I possibly can to go with them both...

What? I need something to pass by all that times on a plane!

Also, while I'm on here, if anyone on here uses MSN, they are welcome to add me onto it (I don't have AIM) by using my email address - [email protected] if they would like ;) It'd be nice to actually have conversations with more people from here before I meet you all

10 Hours in the car? Yeah, I'd borrow a DS if I could. Also, Elite Beat Agents and Mario Kart for the win! :D

I wonder if there's anyone that can beat me at Elite Beat Agents, I've been looking for competition for years.... If you're good please come find me at the convention, I'd be more than happy to play you!

You're on :D

I still break that game out once in a while even though I bought it when it came out! Is it wrong that I find Canned Heat harder than most of the later songs like Jumping Jack Flash?

On a more related note, I've built blueprints for seven different decks, and am currently wittling them down one by one... I'm most well known in the UK for running Donovan and Order builds, but a different arena makes me think I should try a different playstyle...

On a less related note. I actually find it harder to go back to any other mode once the divas are unlocked. Any other mode seems really slow and the circles are way too big.

To be on topic...I had ideas for about 4 different decks, mainly thinking of ones that people don't play then realizing there's reasons why people don't play them.... ~__~
