My stepfather just asked me if X-Wing sells front-license-plates.
In my ignorance, I'm posting this thread.
Is there any official X-Wing merchandise that isn't intended to be used in-game?
Are there any 3rd-party manufacturers in that design space?

Aside from a promotional posters I'm pretty sure there's none. You cold most likely get something with a X-Wing on it, just not the "X-Wing Miniatures Game" logo.

Disney sells all kinds of Star Wars merch. I'm positive they've got a license plate frame. Maybe even one with an X-Wing on it. ![]()
I thought you wanted Ties?
Well this has to be one of the stranger questions I've seen asked around here.
FFG doesn't even make T-shirts. Be nice if they did .... Twilight Imperium t's anyone

TIE Interceptor would be nice too. But the A-wing has always been my favorite starfighter in the Star Wars universe. I guess now if I had to rank them, it'd still be A-Wing, then interceptor, then Naboo N-1. Yeah, yeah, I know, but it's aerodynamic.
The N-1 is like that cool poster you put up of a concept car and then they put it into production and only the planet of Naboo was dumb enough to buy them.

Yeah, but it's got all around visibility with no canopy bars, it's got center-line mounted guns, it's got engines which will give you the most INSANE yaw rate in space. It's got that long tail which provides a fabulous lever-arm for your pitch thrusters, but a meaty main body to house lots more pitch thrusters there. Honestly, the engines will make the roll rate suffer somewhat, but it's pretty close to being the best Star Wars dogfighter just on the basis of its design cues.

So, it's got naturally good accuracy for its damage, high speed turns and possibly native boost, a lack of barrel-roll and low green dice...
What else am I missing?

Should be high green dice. I would give the stateline something like 2322, with boost, focus, target lock, and evade. Plus that S-turn I mentioned in the other thread I gushed about N-1s. Basically I'd give their dial a movement that lets you make a hard one followed by a second hard one in the opposite direction as one move.
And the dial should be full of green. That much thrust with that much ability to pitch and yaw is suggestive of very rapid turning. So basically think A-wing with astromech slot and cool turn ability.
Edited by NightshrikeHonestly, I'm not sure any of that checks out in star wars world where you can selectively dampen inertia. Shapes in star wars are usually superfluous. EXCEPT you B wing roll.
If thrust to weight ratios didn't matter at all, you'd see Star Destroyers with maneuverability similar to starfighters, and there would be no reason for the TIE fighters to be light and poorly armored. They'd all have the same top speed, the same acceleration, and the same turn circle. I don't think that's how it actually plays out in Star Wars, which suggests there are limits on inertial dampening, which suggests that thrust to weight ratio plays some role.
Allow me to handwave:
Tie fighters are simply cheaper that way, and while not infinity capible the dampeners allow for any movement and mobility for ships that size.

Ok, but that doesn't explain different performance figures in the games or different dials on the table. Not saying it doesn't make sense, just that it doesn't mesh with the rest of the data.
Power plant efficiency, physical space requirements.
Also, many of these fighters have to double in atmospherics.
Yeah, I'm sticking with my interpretation of limited inertial dampner efficiency. I think mass and thrust matter, and that we can look at the mass and thrust of a ship and tell something about its capabilities.
LMAO. Seriously? Slave Girl? Oh my...
They should have had POPSCLE for Han Solo
