Are the maps for the beginers set posted anywhere in electronic format so they could be used with an onlne VTT (virtual table top) like roll20 or Maptools?

You want printed maps, pay for a license, you want digital maps, pay for another license. 
You'd pretty much have to scan them in yourself for personal use.

The Hangar, Junkshop, and Streets will probably come in handy. You'd still need to scan/make maps for the cantina, spaceport control, and overall Mos Shuuta though.
They did not have permissions to produce digital products for cost. They have renewed the license since Disney bought it. They have not announced the right to produce digital products that I am aware of. On the flip side, they have not said that they can't either.
