Ion Tokens and Large ships?

By eagletsi111, in X-Wing

How do they work. Firstly, I almost never Ion a large ship, because it states you need two to have any effect.

Last night, I was flying Scum Boba and he got ioned the guy told me I still suffered one damage and got an Ion token. I read the large ship rules and it says, "Requires 2 Ion tokens to take effect" I've always thought that mean't I didn't take any damage until I got my second Ion token. Is that wrong?

Do you take a damage for every Ion token you get as a Big ship?

Again, I never play big ships, but wanted to try out scum boba so I'm confused here.

Thanks,

Large ship gets its first ion token = suffer 1 damage (if it was from an ion cannon turret or an ion cannon). next turn goes normally and you keep the ion token on it.

Large ship gets its second ion token = suffer 1 damage (if it was from an ion cannon turret or an ion cannon). next turn will make the ship do the whole - don't reveal dial, perform move 1 forward white, remove all ion tokens.

He is correct, the Ion cannon or turret's ability still happens. You just ignore the tokens until you have 2+ ion tokens. Then you remove them all and move only 1 white forward next turn.

Interesting! From reading it I always thought they were immune until they had two. I may shoot at big ships now with my Ion cannons, since it's still one damage.

Sorry. I just realized this is not in the Qa section. My bad
