Mine 2 core sets don't arrive until Monday. Very eager to get some games in once they get here!
Me too, I got my first of two core sets yesterday and it's going on the table for our weekend gaming session tomorrow.
Can't wait.
I paid a little more but got to support my local gaming shop. so its all good.
Well I *was* excited to be able to play tomorrow, but when I went to assemble the ships today I found there's missing components in my box. Apparently nobody bothered to put in the plastic connectors into my set. Which means I can't even do Step 1 of the ship assembly.
No connectors for shield dials, no connector pairs for speed dials.
Super.
Time to head over to Customer Service, but I'm very unhappy and this is not a good start.

I hope you checked the dice bag, cause that's where they are. They don't have their own baggy.
gonna probably have to wait a week before I can start playing
have an x-wing store champ and most likely more x-wing on monday before we can find the space for armada
oh well, still get to play X-wing

Thanks, I'll check the dice ba....hey, guess what else I'm missing! O.o
I"m super excited to start playing Armada! I'm evening thinking about selling off my X-Wing collection. But I doubt I'll ever find a buyer.

Are you kinding? X-Wing is still a fantastic game and it has one of the highest resale value of any game out there. I'd keep it unless you really really need the money.
I just don't know if I have the time let alone the storage space for both. And yes, the money would be nice

Well then, as I mentioned you should be in luck then. Just don't sell it as a large lot, you will not get close to its value. Break it up into smaller lots that are themed and buyers will jump at them.I just don't know if I have the time let alone the storage space for both. And yes, the money would be nice

That's a good tip. I highly doubt I'll find anyone that wants 70 ships.

After my trips through a few wargaming systems, I've found the least regretful course of action is to
a.) identify a core group of models that are just a joy for you to fly
b.) sell off the rest
When I was starting X-wing, I went on an addiction-fueled buying rampage and ended up with
so many ships
that I couldn't even enjoy flying them (I put a squadron on the table and immediately wanted to fly another, too many ideas
)
As of today, I've sold off half of my collection (and promptly replaced it with scum...I can quit whenever I want!) and couldn't be happier for it. I have more space and less dilemma about which options to field
keeping a smaller, core collection will also let you fund another hobby while retaining a foothold in the old one in case you want to go back. There's nothing worse than "well ****, guess I have to buy all this crap again."
