Hurray!!!

... and in three months it will be a real game!

^_^

Crabs fault.

:P

I really like the graphic design on that box. Clean and simple with tons of room for that gorgeous artwork.

Much nicer than the X-Wing core set with all the "metal" covering up the artwork!

I agree, and I love this new game. I am going to wait until the Wave One Expansions are available, then buy everything in one fel-swoop!

So the australian store that said they will have it on 27th was right, ****.

Boss,

Can you explain how the game works and what you think is fun about it?

Also what is in the expansions that make them auto include in your case? If I wanted only a taste would the core be sufficient?

The core from Xwing is a very very limited game.

The game works in the same way that popular war games like Axis & Allies... kinda. You are going to have to treat the game like a big-picture-show rather than a little heroic poetry reading adventure.

;)

The rules are very simple, just like X-WING, but to excel at this game you are going to have to chill, and think about how you move everything. Leave your ADD mentality at the door for this one. Squadrons are going to have to work together and focus on a certain attack plan, rather than just zooming around making opportunity attacks.

My best advice is to plan out the capitol ships actions in the same way (more or less) you plan out your power pieces in a good game of chess.

:)

I think this game will be great when you can get the core set with the wave one expansions. I am going to wait to buy in when I can do just that.

:D

You do realize that there is another forum specifically designed for the game that should nott be named...This is nott madness ...This is X-wing...

This is nott madness ...This is X-wing...

Actually, I'm pretty sure those two go hand in hand.

Or is that just me?

This was a tip of the hat to our news-hungry-Crab.

;)

I'm thinking that box art would be cool as a playmat for X-wing. Busy but not overly so.

And that this isn't news, it's a long-awaited release...

I agree, it is a nice piece of art.

I agree with many of the previous comments.

How dare you post about something other than the new FAQ, the Phantom-nerf, or mat-gate?

I am so sick and tired of all these Armada threads clogging up the X-Wing forums!

Somebodies got to do it...

I've played the starter mission when it was set up as a demo at the store.

Found that the Imperials despite having less points on the table tend to win 80% of the games. I don't know if that is just the mission set up or the limitations of the number of ships so when Wave 1 comes out there will be different builds for the Rebels that aren't such a point sink.

I will say the fighter combat seems very underwhelming IMHO. Also they are painted the same as Imperial Assault.

My biggest concern is the pricing. The core set is $100 MSRP (more than 2 X-wing core sets) and expansion packs are running around $20.00 (same cost as a Star Viper which is $5 average more than small ship expansion packs.) It seems to me that playing this will be more expensive than X-wing.

But those are just my opinions. I'm sure there are plenty of people who will disagree and have good arguments against my concerns.

Very interesting.

I am going to wait until Wave One is out to buy into this. I just love the ships so I may own it all more as a collection... dunno yet.

I'm staying away from this one. IA and XW take up enough as it is.

Not that I don't want to own it, I do, but there's only so much I can spend on FFG. :P.

I wanna grab a SSD when it comes out, just for display.

Well buying into IA is a hellah commitment, so I can see how you have to make a few $$$ choices here.

;)

I too had to consider if I would buy both space ship games over a space ship game and a RPG little people game.

I get it... I went double space!
