The "other stuff" in the new FAQ.

By gamblertuba, in X-Wing

Don't even mention that ship whose name is in the title for episode one. Plenty of discussion elsewhere. What else in the new FAQ is newsworthy?

1. Feedback array can be used on a ship you are touching (expected) and when on an asteroid. Banana pirates with feedback can do some unexpected things in an asteroid field. Best case is try to block someone else on to landing on an asteroid with you and then feedback.

2. R4 Aggromech does work the way most of us assumed it would?

3. IG-2000 with Injured Pilot works the way we expected?

4. Had to read the Ysanne Isard FAQ twice to remind myself that she could show up on a ship other than a Decimator. Anyone ever take Isard on a Firespray before? Or a phantom? (Ha!)

What else?

2) Yes it does.

3) I expected the ship to be unable to use a pilot ability.

Did you know that Experimental Interface was unique? And that you could only have on in a squad?

The ruling on moving when touching another ship was interesting. You could, in theory, start with your whole squad touching each other then execute the same straight maneuvers and still get your actions, and still be touching.

So the ship that gets the Injured Pilot cannot use its ability, but can still use the ability of the other IG-2000 through the title. The IG-2000 that didn't get the Injured Pilot crit is unaffected. Do I have that right?

Could make Swarms a lot easier to fly. However, it will be hard to maneuver a giant block of ships through an asteroid field and they can still get all jammed up.

Yes. Also, other Iggy's can't use the Injured Pilot Iggy's ability.

I've taken Isanne on HLC Boba assuming that boba costing the same as chiraneau would be fine because he had a HLC

it wasn't :(

I just feel vindicated because Oicunn works the way I played him before someone told me nu-uh.

Not exactly. If A B and C are in a list, and B gets injured, then all three get (and only get) A and C abilities.

Ok, got it. So if pilot is injured, his ability is gone. It hate injured pilot its either the worst crit you can take or meaningless.

Yes. Never made sense. I'm sure it was done to be cautious about making something OP that they either hadn't thought of or to make sure they wouldn't be limited by something they might want to release in the future.

Might've missed point, becuase that is actually stated in the FAQ.

I've seen pictures of a misprint that didn't have the dot. Someone probably wrote in about it.

Close. The ships are still in contact, but they are not "touching" in the rulebook sense of the word. I'm pretty sure this was in the old FAQ too.

So....if you have Stay On Target and you have Navigator. You can change the move with Navigator, but it counts as red because of Stay On Target?

Or is it saying that you change the dial because of Stay On Target....which makes it red (like change a 3 sharp turn to a 3 straight). Then, you can change it to something else with Navigator...like a Green move (from a 3 straight to a 1 straight...which is green), but it still counts as a red move because of the Stay On Target. Is that right?

When I first read that, I thought it said that if you have Stay on Target and you have Navigator, if you use Navigator, it turns into a red maneuver b/c you had SoT (for some weird reason), even if you didn't invoke it.

Your second paragraph is right. There was a legitimate question out there about what happened if you activated Stay on Target then Navigator; in theory, Navigator could overwrite the "make it red" effect from SoT. Now that doesn't happen.

Banana pirates?

Is that what the kids are calling them these days or was that a case of autocorrect?

I am surprised Accuracy Corrector can still trigger even when making a Blinded Pilot "attack" with no dice after picking up that crit.

Autocorrect or not, I love it and I'm going to have to add that one into my X-Wing vernacular!

That was either S&V or Nova Squadron podcast. Just much easier to say.

Yeah perhaps. I thought you were implying that you were previously unaware that EI was unique. I know some really good players that had missed the dot on the card designating it as unique. Named pilots, crew and droids were fairly obvious. EI and Lone Wolf caught a lot of people off guard.

It also matches nicely with the Mango Cannon.

Now if only the Banana Pirates could equip their ships with Mango Cannon's!

Binayre = Binary.

Not all that difficult, really. Of course, Banana Pilots is AMAZING. We need a Captain Fifes.

nah, that'd be weird

you can, however, have one banana pirate between two mangos ;)

I hadn't realized that Accuracy Corrector could be used to trigger Gunner if the roll isn't to your liking.
