Rebel Squad

Hi,

I'm fairly new to X-Wing and just completed a 99pt Rebel squad.

Y-Wing Dutch: Ion Cannon Turret, R5-K6

B-Wing Nera Dantels: Expert Handling, FCS, 2x Proton Torpedoes, Munitions Failsafe

X-Wing Garven Dreis: R2-D2

The strategy would be first to attack with Garven, spent focus and give the marker to Dutch.

Then attack with Dutch using target lock (giving target lock to Nera, too) and the ion cannon.

The third attack would be by Nera, using the target lock got by Dutch and firing proton torpedoes or primary weapons.

Of course, all the ships have to fly within r2.

Could this strategy work well?

Not sure why you would give Nera FCS if you will be passing TLs from Dutch.

The problem with ordinance. You are willing to spend 8 points on torpedoes that will do 4 dice damage once each, rather than a HLC for 7 that will let you throw 4 dice several times. Yes it would be only IN arc, and yes you would loose crits - but get a B with HLC behind something and rail on it for several turns and even the thickest of ships will go down.
