Up until scum, I preferred generic pilots. Mostly because I didn't think it was appropriate to have the iconic heroes dying every battle. I'm loving the scum unique pilots however. it's kind of a 180 for me

I always figured most pilots are doing an emergency eject (unless of course, you roll 0 evades, and your opponent kills you with a handful of hits and crits, and then you just got exploded. Hard.)

Wasn't the Empire sexist in its original incarnation? They seem to be depicted as having more women lately but I was under the impression that the Empire having no women in the trilogy was supposed to be a matter of anti-women policies, though not as severe as their anti-alien policies.

That's the EU explanation of it... in reality, women had little participation in the films themselves (because the producers/writers/Lucas/etc didn't put them in there).

All my Academy pilots are named with custom cards. As an example there is Chemise Rouge, Camisa Roja, Rotes Hemd etc etc.

I'm intrigued. Do you give him Predator or PtL and pair him with just 5 academies? How does it do?

Predator and a HLC deployed on one flank, four academies on the other both set up at and angle towards centre, so they either go for the mini swarm and leave rexler free to snipe or go for him and let the swarm close to range 1 and inflict serious damage.

It works well and at most i lose a couple of ties usually.

I guess as far as the OP goes, I have a couple named pilots I like: Howlrunner, Kath, Whisper doesn't feel as much like a character for some reason, Soontir, and above all, Carnor, though he's not really doing well for me these days. Soon, Marek Steele will make a triumphant return I hope. Back when the swarm was still viable I really liked Nightbeast and Backstabber too. Now IG-88 and Mr. Mux are going to be my other favorites.

I have found that anything that draws attention to Howlrunner makes her even more of a priority target though. It's hard work keeping her alive.
