Nice write up. The fighter slowdown issue really isn't surprising, but I suspect games will go faster as people get more experience.

Doesn't Luke Skywalker have an ability that might explain that?

I am finding that the Command system is superb - especially in the first two turns when you can generate tokens that really help in crucial later rounds.

Damage surprised me in how suddenly it comes on (never played X-Wing) - I am finding that you manage your shields and engineering, but beyond a certain event horizon it all goes to pot pretty fast... The Critical damage cards are superb... My VSD sat proud and invincible until it had its engineering halved by a luck shot and then it was rapidly hamstrung.

In all games with the core the fighters have effectively nullified each other... Character squadrons are insane though, so very excited for the Fighter expansions.

Gonna do some random tests of Capitals vs squadrons just to get a feel for the pain threshold, as I have not tested that in game. Though to be fair I have only had this for about 6 hours...

It was 4 squadrons, including one lead by Luke Skywalker. X-wings are multi-purpous fighter/bombers!

Yeah I had 4 X-wings drop a VSD today.
