Future location books

By RogueCorona, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Now that we know what the first Age of Rebellion location book will be what ones do you think will follow?

I think there will be an Imperial stronghold book, one for CIS Holdouts, and maybe one for the smaller independent powers that the Empire for some reason or another hasn't managed to conquer.

Are there any CIS holdouts left around the setting time? The one I remember holding out the longest was the resistance on New Plympto and it has been crushed by now.

An Imperial Strongholds book might be in the works, I can see it covering iconic Imperial worlds and locations and how to break into them and what kind of trouble to get in there. Maybe with places like the Maw, Byss and Kuat. I can also see the possibility for some sort of Core Worlds book, maybe featuring coruscant and other key worlds, things like the Alderaan asteroid field or the coruscant sector in large.

According to the Essential Guide to Warfare while the largest holdout groups were crushed early in the Imperial era there were still some around during the GCW. A few publicly disavowed the CItS and joined the Alliance, and more basically agreed to stay out of the Alliance's way if e Alliance would do the same but there was at least one sector where the war was a three way struggle between the local Alliance forces, the local CIS, and the Imperial military in the area.

And New Plympto was far from the last holdout to fall. It was crushed in 19 BBY, the last major anti-holdout campaign we have a confirmed date for was 17 BBY but there were some later battles against remnants of crushed holdout forces

I could see an imperial Strongholds book. I could see a worlds of conflict which would be worlds Neither Imperial nor Rebels hold sway.

I'd like to see a book focused on less overt battlefields, such as espionage hotspots, since not all Rebel cells are going to be built for straight-up combat.

hmm.. a chapter on spynets (Bothan or Kupohan) would be pretty neat. or how the Alliance best coordinates without the use of the holonet. Heir to the Jedi has them using dead drops, which has some story potential.

A book of the worlds that are able to remain neutral, like the Banking Clan world of Aargau, would be nice.

I'm pretty sure the Corporate Sector is a given eventually, though it will probably be Edge rather than Age.

Yeah I would be shocked if Corporate Sector was AOR.

I hope to see a Coruscant book sometime...

I'm guessing that at some point there'll be a book along the lines of "Coruscant and the Core Worlds", fleshing out Imperial strongholds. But before we get there I'd love to see some "contested" areas, whether it's in a military sense where the Rebels are strong enough or Imperials are weak enough that it's an actual contest. Or worlds where both sides work behind the scenes to gain the upper hand, with propaganda and espionage.

I'd really enjoy seeing module components, like in Fly Casual and Suns of Fortune, too. Stuff that's great raw material to build games with.
