What are the most maneuverable / fastest ship configs?

By Kilofix, in X-Wing

Just curious, what ship configs are the most maneuverable and fastest (in terms of being able to reposition in space)?

Ignoring combat effectiveness but taking stress and sustained maneuverability (over a number of turns) into account.

I'm thinking Falcon and YT-2400 with PTL and EU in terms of speed, given their bigger bases.

And maybe Phantom, IG-88D, maybe even Defender in terms of being able to reposition?

Thanks for the opinions.

Defender? I don't think so, even if the white k turn helps.

What about Jake & Tycho?

Anything phanrom

Anything interceptor. Turr with vi is amazing

Or....admiral chirpy with ysanne isard, ptl, and engine upgrade. Action like normal and then ptl off of the evade action to boost

IG88 with Advanced Sensors can do some crazy things, especially with Adrenaline Rush allowing a Boost after an S-Loop..

The 2400 with an Engine Upgrade is the best dial in the game, but the Falcon, Decimator, and Firespray can all pull off their own shenanigans and cover a lot of ground.

Any large base ship with a 4 straight and boost is capable of covering the most distance in a single turn. I always have found it funny that a YT1300 with a boost is faster than an A wing or Tie Interceptor.

4-straight with boost on a Large ship is equivalent to 5-straight with boost on a small ship, which means the A-wing and Interceptor are just as fast without even having to buy Engine Upgrade.

EDIT: Okay, I derped. You're right.

It's been tested, the fastest is a boost barrel PTL Outrider in a straight line. Maneuverability probably goes to PTL Daredevil Tycho.

For small ships, Jake and Tycho are the kings. Tycho's probably a little more so than Jake if you give him PTL, Daredevl, and Experimental Interface. It gives him two repositioning options every turn, and he can use his full dial without concern for how stressed he is. Jake gets a built-in Boost/Barrel Roll, and has slightly better stress-clearing options when compared to an Interceptor.

I haven't tried it, but I'd imagine that An outrider with Engine Upgrade and Push the Limit would be the farthest move possible in a single turn.

phantoms, interceptors, and a wings

Thanks for all the opinions. Looks like I forgot the A-Wings in my OT, whoops.

So done did a diagram for fastest single turn and it was the outrider, but I don't think that is sustainable every turn because of the stress. I haven't seen anyone map out sustained speed, but I would think a phantom would get it, assuming it had a target to trigger ACD every turn.

For maneuverability, yeah, gotta be a psycho Tycho (with honorable mention to echo).

Echo reverse banked decoak, Straight 5 then boost. Not that you would give her EU over ACD

IG-88 with advanced sensors is crazy maneuverable. Especially when you take shedding stress into account, their 9 (!!!) greens are crazy good and make them hard to predict. The S-loops are nice, especially when you consider the AdvS boost.

I saw the 'test' diagrams.

When it comes to raw distance covered I'm thinking a Phantom (Echo) can win BUT most people aren't going to trick it out with PtL and the Engine Upgrade needed.

Kylo with Supernatural Reflexes is maneuverable and very adaptive.

While I'm here...

Dalan Oberos in a Starviper with Advance sensors, Daredevil and Afterburners has the most possible options.

Anakin Skywalker with R4 and Supernatural reflexes is probably nigh unblockable.

R4? Nah, R2-A6.

Even better, yes.

Primed thruster is a must to do it round after round, never be predictable, and generally just be a nuisance to catch.

Now if only there were a second ship worth a **** to run along him :P.

I mean a pair A's can really get about any where they want in about 2 rounds and end up costing about the same as any one ace that does the same thing. With the blue 5 straight, then boost & barrel roll they can move about 10 base lengths per turn.

These will be some of my goto ships once I get into epic play. They blow right though enemy formations and hit Huge ships from their vulnerable flanks.

Kylo QD is a good 2 ship list, but incredibly difficult to fly. Same with Kylo Blackout.

Kylo QD and friend (passive missile SF/Scorch/Null/Rivas/Epsilon) are much easier to fly and have performed significantly better than 2 ship Kylo at events. But without coordinate, QD in a 3 ship build can get diced badly, especially with no on-demand boost and a native tendency to fly high aggro.

The TIE/ba will certainly add to the roster of 2 ship Kylo, and being an ace platform itself at I6, it can field that protective brother role far better than any of the current FO I6+.

Heck, if the generics are cheap enough, you can recreate Vader +3Imdaaar by stapling Composure to the generics. And we haven't even seen all the cards to that expansion!
