if you could figure to somehow squeeze an EU on Kath that would be great. I never feel confident running a firespray without one
Its a nice standard build.
I don't like using cannons on firespreays, I use the rear arc more than the forward so I'd swap out the mango for an EU.
Also recon > rebel cap imo
Howl will draw a lot of early hate so Kath wants to be aggressive, x2 tokens will help her stay in the fight longer

But the whole point of Captive + Mangler is to utilize Kath's ability to stress out key targets. Usually the opponent's ships with the highest PS will get stressed from rebel captive and if Kath can fire back there is a chance they will cancel the crit and receive another stress. If you dropped mangler for engine and put on recon specialist instead of rebel captive you could add Calculation to at least have a chance to get crits out, but then you lose VI. Now engine upgrade isn't as powerful.
Personally, if you really wanted engine, I would drop Howlrunner down to an AP and just run 4 AP. A firepower disadvantage for sure, but you would protect the investment of Kath. Also, your opponent would now most likely go after Kath first with now Howlrunner there, so your rebel captive would be more worthwhile.
Another option to consider is Tactician...it would work out of both the primary and auxiliary arcs and combos well with engine because you can position easier.
