Take Cover Card from Morale I

By panzerjaeger, in Tide of Iron

I want to know the correct interpretation of this card, I think I made a huge mistake to my disadvantage. Which is correct?

1. You get two red dice to attempt to roll for cover.

or

2. Two enemy hits are no longer successful because you have two cover.

Secondly, I had a question about the timing. Do you declare you are taking cover before or after the attacker rolls his attack dice. In other words do you get to see whether the enemy actually scores two hits, before using the card.

Thanks.

You gain 2 additional cover dice that are rolled during the attack. You would declare you are using the card as soon as the attack is declared but before the dice are rolled. That's how I see it.

I played it right then. Thanks.

That is the same way that we interpreted it as well. Otherwise it would be quite a powerful card to pull out only on successful attacks.

If I have both Take Cover cards can I use them both simultaneously giving a unit 4 cover?

I would say yes, as nothing on the card says the contrary.

You'd still have to put a token on each of the cards though, of course.

Agree. Both cards may be in use simultaniusly.
