Specializations

By Kilcannon, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Was wondering if anyone created any specializations for either EoE, AoR, or F&D? With one of the character generators I created a special ops specialization, and a Force sensitive Marauder. Just curious if anyone else has made any.

A while back I did a trio of Force-sensitive universal specs (Dark Side Acolyte, Force Mystic, and Jedi Initiate) as part of my Ways of the Force fan-doc, all three of which (and particularly the Jedi Initiate) were intended as temporary measures until Force and Destiny was published. I've been in the process of revising them ( especially the Jedi Initiate) in the light of the Force and Destiny Beta as well as working on a fourth, the Beastmaster (combines aspects of Stay on Target's Beast Rider and FaD's Pathfinder specs), but it's still very much a work in progress.

DarthGM did an excellent series of specs for his own take on the Jedi career (Consular, Guardian, and Sentinel specializations) as well as attendant Lightsaber Form specs (Balanced, Fast, and Strong). Unlike a number of other attempts to create a Jedi career, Phil's efforts were well-balanced and for the most part made use of material from the core rulebooks without adding multiple pages of new talents.

Others have tried their hand at homebrewing their own specs, and the results have been far more miss than hit. Either due to not really fitting the theme of what was proposed (an "old world" Aristocrat spec) or were just grab bags of "juicy" talents that the creator didn't want to hope into other specs for, with "Jedi" specializations tending fall into this second category; the one whafrog linked to is a stellar example of why there shouldn't be a universal Jedi specialization, since it really is nothing more than a munckinized grab bag of all the cool/awesome talents that a lightsaber-wielder would want, including both Improved Reflect and Force Rating in the same place.

Your points were all made in the thread I linked to, and the reader can decide there. Have a little class and try not to pollute every thread with personal insults.

Pot meet kettle.

Unllke you have done in the past on multiple occasions, I've never claimed my opinion is to be held as being superior than that of anyone else that posts on this forum. If other folks want to ascribe a greater weight to what I've got to say on a given topic, that's their decision to make.

I put this Grammaton Cleric together back in the beta, though now that Gunslinger is a thing I should probably go back and revise it.
