So a hero can discard the infection token (form infection overlord cards) using a ability that discard a condition, like bloodied or stunned?

Infection is not a condition. Infection tokens only go away when an OL discards them, or at the end of a quest (not encounter.) (See the Trollfens rules about this.)

"Condition" is a specific term that refers to a limited number of effects- these will have condition tokens and condition cards, as well. The current list of conditions is:

Base game:

Poison

Stun

Immobilize

Disease

Lair of the Wyrm:

Burn

Labyrinth of Ruin:

Curse

Trollfens:

Weaken

Shadow of Nerekhall:

Bleed

Manor of Ravens:

Doom
