ever have a crit that normally seems minor become a game changer

By barriecritzer, in X-Wing

Normally the crit that makes all your hard maneuvers a red maneuvers is a annoying but somewhat minor critical but last night this was not the case. I was playing my dual stress decimator list vs my friends dash and horn list. Dash was range 2 from the edge of the map, normally this would not have been a problem because all my friend would have to do is perform a hard 1 next turn and be fine but then I gave him a stress from firing at him with tactician and the crit that makes all your hard maneuvers red. So in two turns dash ended up flying off the map.

Have you ever had a situation where a crit that is not normally to much of a problem to handle became a game changer.

I've had my turret blown off my HWK in the opening shots before. Ended up surviving the rest of the game, and went on to land the death blow on echo for the win. Torkil Mux is incredible if you let me get close.

Had a decimator pop a weapons malfunction on Dash at range 1. Able to fire back because HLC was gone. Killed the decimator lol.

I ran nearly 8 rounds trying to get a weapons malfunction off my outer rim smuggler. Not fun when you barely get to throw any dice.

Recently in match against a Scum-Swarm I was able to crit Serissu+Stealth Device with range 3 volley from Rexler+HLC (used his pilot ability); straight up denied her the actions on her action bar and my opponent didn't manage to repair the damage for the two truns it then took me take her down - after that his swarm quickly folded though I lost both Interceptors of my list and Rexler was beaten down to a single Hull Point

I once had a proton bomb pull up two Munitions Failures, the thing that makes you discard secondary weapons

It hit a B-Wing's HLC and a HWK's Blaster Turret.

I was very happy with that proton bomb

I was flying Soontir Fel vs some y wings and my opponent landed a lucky hit and crit on me, the crit was blinded pilot, next turn Soontir flew into an asteroid and died.

Yes I know thats not exactly how blinded pilot works, but it did seem to work just right, and my opponent and I couldn't help laughing for a good while about that.

I had my 1 hull left whisper fly into range one of Suoer Dash. Gave him a few damage and the munitions failure critical hit, which then enabled him to shoot back and kill me. Worst timing ever

In a game against a friend I was chasing his Chiraneau with Garven and Hobbie. Hobbie had R3-A2, which seemed like it would be pointless to use, since Decimators can do fine staying in their green maneuvers. Then Garven landed a Thrust Control Fire crit, giving Hobbie the chance to double-stress him. Chiraneau never got another action before I finished him off. We were both pretty sure my X-wings wouldn't have outlasted the Decimator if Chiraneau had his TL+Evade every turn.

That person should shuffle better.....

Sucks to be them.

The breakup of Decimator: I gave Keyan Farlander a crit and the got a stress. Now his time to shoot back at Range 1: Three Focus and a blank! And then... wait a second... ;)

I had the BTL-A4 Stressbot Y-wing that just gives up on actions to hand out two stress tokens a shot.

Goddamn Console Fire.

I can't tell you how many times I get the Minor Explosion card with 1 hull remaining...

Soontir Fel took a Thrust Control Fire, took a focus, proceeded to survive the next attack. What was a bad move and a bad turn wasn't so disastrous because of that. Ended up winning the game..

Ever benefitted from a crit? Recently an opponent flew two pilots with PS 4 which were the lowest PS among all our pilots. At some point one ship got a damaged cockpit, thus getting PS 0. When the second PS 4 pilot got a damaged cockpit too that kinda cancelled the first one. Not a big upgrade, but still that second crit was better than a normal hit for him. Made me chuckle.

Luke moved into range 1 of my Leebo got a crit through my choices were Direct Hit or Munitions Failure had 2 hull left took Munitions Failure then shot back at Luke and killed him I then went onto win the game. Best timing ever

I had a Console Fire on a One Hull Point Wes Jenson shooting at a Dagger Pilot that I kept forgetting about during the Action phase and kept remembering during the Combat phase. After the third time I forgot, he exploded. The kicker is that the attack roll I made before I realized my error would've killed the B-Wing. Instead, it lived to take out Tarn+R7.

I was practicing my 4 Tie Bomber list against a Fat Han list and managed to get TWO crits that lowered his main attack by 1. Fat Han was firing with only 1 red die! It was hysterical.

I've been in a position, twice now, where an already stressed decimator got damaged engines in an unrecoverable spot near the edge of the board. (ironically I won both games, since the enemy was warn down, thanks to soontir)

I've had this happen! It's hilarious. It's really hard not to make (really weak) "pewpewpew" noices when he fires.

I landed a Blinded Pilot crit on a decimator with Vader and Gunner. I was all happy till my opponent started laughing and proceeded to "miss" his first shot but Vadered for a crit then gunner for another attack. That sucked...

When 1v1 vs. admiral chirps in round 1 of an escalation tournament my rexler flipped a few damage and turned chirpy into ps 0, which enabled the dual reroll on predator the next turn for the kill with no return fire. Rexler was on 1 hull left...

YES.

Damaged Sensor Array, on Han.

He spent the next six rounds trying to roll a hit.

Stunned Pilot on Oicunn.

The only time I ever flew a Decimator, the first damage card Captain Oicunn received was Stunned Pilot!

Last week I was playing a match where both sides had Pilot Skill 8 Rebels. The other player had initiative, had already destroyed Ten Nunb, and was now firing at Jan Ors. Jan took a Thrust Control Fire, which prevented her from using her ability to augment Ten Nunb's parting shot (Simultaneous Fire), and so my opponent's Luke Skywalker survived with a single Hull remaining.
