Queue scene: Scrooge McDuck jumping headfirst into his money bin!
I plan to start off slow, nice and easy. You can't just dive in, you have to build up to the really good stuff. Start off paying attention to all the little bits (can't forget those!), making sure to give each point its due attention. Then, when the tension is built to the point where you just can't stand it anymore, just go for it! Dive in, give it your all, and go for hours.
That's my plan.
By beating Mikael's sorry Imperial butt! For the Rebublic, for Freedom!
Probably play a standard game, just slowly with rules in hand.
I will probably play it with basic rules and take it from there.
I'll probably start off with the LTP game as the simplicity will be better for teaching other players as well. Once they are ready we'll jump into the full game.
We have demo nights planned where folks will play through a few games on each side. I bought multiple starters.
Wait until the ISD is out or can be proxied and jump in with both feet using: x2 ISD + Imperial Raider(s) + Tie Fighters/Interceptors
I'll start by opening the box.

Someone's gunning for a position with the MIB
I'll sift through all the cards while going over the rules. I'll admire the models, make a few "pew, pew" noises, then jump into the LTP game.
Probably give the 180 pt games a few tries then step into the big leagues.
Already read the PDF rulebook cover to cover at least 10 times.
Will be jumping in tomorrow and start running demos for my FLGS Friday-Sunday. I expect to get at least 50 games in this weekend!
Probably keep it at the 180 point level until wave 1 arrives. Maybe try a full 300 pts, but the goal is to get the basics down and start experimenting. Do some piloting trials, can you maneuver a VSD through an asteroid field, how many laps around the board can cr90 do in 6 turns, etc.
Unfortunatly, mine will be probably be bundled with the Wifes birthday present, Settlers of Catan, so I will probably have to earn some brownie points and play that with her first, before I can get her to play with me.
So I will probably be content with painting up the bases and squadrons, maybe bring it into work for some fun with that lads after knock off
Carefully assemble everything and play starting scenario once as the good guys and once as the Rebels.
Then crack open Core #2 and let it rip!
Forgot one step. Need to sleeve everything first.
Edited by VaultDwellerwell since all we get is the core set for at least a month, i guess i'll take it slow. Not like i have a choice.
By pushing ships around and rolling dice.
The only thing that is stopping me from going whole hog in, is the fact that Wave 1 won't be out for another month or so. I will probably only buy one starter set. So some of my games will of course be the 180 point version that you can play with a starter set. I will probably get with friends who also have 1 starter set and we will borrow each others stuff for what ever faction we are playing. But even that limits the games to 2 VSD, 2 Frigates, and 2 Corvettes. Its not like even with stuff from two core sets, there will be much variation in lists.
Gonna paint my X-Wings!
2x Red squad (one for luke one for Wedge) actually what other known colours are there for xwings? Green, Blue, Gold?
