Just got my copy
In an update, it seems that those who got the game directly from Amazon won't get their copy until after April 21st (they are not getting their allocation of units until April 21st). Draw your own conclusions from that, but perhaps those who took advantage of that offer are getting the shaft due to Amazon getting punished. Frustrating.
It could also be FFG trying to give the hobby and gaming stores about a months lead time to make sales?
Any word yet on the Walmart stocks of Armada . . . I think I feel a tremor in the Force every time I think about this game being distributed by Walmart. I know, I know, good for FFG, good for Star Wars (does SW really need Walmart's help?) and good for gaming in general, if this actually hits any shelves. But do the ends justify the means?
Edited by JutMost likely it is that FFG has a special deal with LGS distributors.
Most likely Amazon's allocation, Wave 1, and the dice are all sitting off the west coast right now.
YES.
It is true.
Available in Dallas, although it is list price. Period.
No BS...
(Will post pics if requested).
OF COURSE THERE REQUESTED, Good go man!

Is this from the horse's mouth, so to speak?
Having owned this for less than 12 hours, the only thing I can say for certain is that the box is twice as big as it needs to be. It might be large so you can hold your expansions except for that massive hole in lid!
And the little X-wings are underwhelming.
I wasn't really involved in the pre-release rumors so I don't know what cards haven't already been leaked.
Is anyone with a copy going to spoil the rest of the cards that we don't know or confirm the cards that we know of?

I don't think cheap core sets from Wal-Mart/MM/Amazon don't really hurt FLGSs all that much. If the core is a threshold that gamers with modest means need to get over, they can get on board through the cheap outlets, and then buy the expansions through the FLGS, when they go there to play and expand.
Damage deck:
Compartment Fire x2 - Crew - You cannot ready your defense tokens
Crew Panic x2 - Crew - Before revealing your command dial, discard it with no effect, or reveal it, but take one damage

Shield Failure x2 - Ship - Your opponent may choose up to 2 hull zones, each of those zones loses one shield, then flip facedown.

Upon opening, what I see is:
11 Packages:
Package of Rules & Cardboard cutouts.
Package of 3 Capital ships.
Package of lots of LITTLE starfighters.
Package of Dice & disc connectors.
Package of grey Dial Bases and Maneuver tool.
3 Packages of Clear Bases.
3 Packages of Cards.
Will eventually get around to some pics (unless someone -hopefully- does them first), BUT ONE THING I DID NOTICE:
There is PLENTY of opportunity to do REPAINTS (i.e., the Capital ships exhaust are the first obvious).
Thanks jimbobiii

This is at least the second mention of painting issues. We saw the other thread where it looks like the engine section isn't painted. Anyone else finding issues or is this just too high of expectations?
Another observation:
There are included cards for TWO (2) of each capital ship, although only models for 1 each.
Thus, those who are getting 2 Core sets would not be disappointed in this initial release.

Those are different versions of the ship with different stats.
Yes, I know.
Just pointing out the Cards included with the core set as opposed to the Models included with same.
Edited by kippryonThose critical hits are nasty!
So there will be no difference between the core ships and expansion packs? Or will the wave 1 ships have cards not included in the core?
Yes, the Wave 1 ships all have new Commanders, except for the Neb B, I also believe that there is at least 2+ upgrades in each expansion that only come in those wave 1 blisters.
I'm trying to be happy for everyone who got their game today, but my Amazon order shows nothing and none of the many game stores in my area will have anything before Friday, so I'm super jealous right now

P.S. When I get my set I will try to post pics. Please try not to be jealous when I do.
Edited by Eagle128Would any of you lovely people who already have coresets in hand mind having a look at the dice and telling me what all the possible results are on blue, red, and black. It's been hard to guess the efficacy of anything shown without having a hard grasp on the dice probabilities in this game.
The dice probabilities have already been posted in another thread, with pictures. In summary:
Red: 2x blank, 1x Accuracy, 2x Hit, 2x Critical, 1x Double Hit
Blue: 2x Accuracy, 4x Hit, 2x Critical
Black: 2x blank, 4x Hit, 2x Critical + Hit
