Just got my copy

By Hedgehobbit, in Star Wars: Armada

My gamestore had a massive stack of this game out today. Which is odd since I called them yesterday afternoon and the guy said he had no idea when they'd be getting it in (I was there for other things).

I still haven't opened it but I have to say I'm surprised FFG doesn't have any how-to-play videos out like they did for 40K Conquest or X-Wing. Looks like I'll have to actually read the rulebook. :(

Which FLGS is it? The one closest to me still doesn't have it in.

It was Madness Games & Comics in Dallas, Texas (Plano actually if you know the area). A freakin' huge game store but also the only game store in all of Dallas.

I remember when X-Wing was just out that FFG gave some stores preferential treatment. This particular game store never had any shortage of X-Wing ships when I kept hearing from other players that they were having trouble finding certain ships. Maybe that's a factor.

There are a few big distributors in the Dallas area. Probably why they got it so quick.

Well, that's a better excuse than my conspiracy theory.

Oh shut up and open it already!

But seriously, please post pics when you open it.

Ugh, I hate madness and the "clique" of people that play X-wing there. The TO that runs the place seriously needs to be banned from FFG Organized Play.

Everyone should post pics of their battles

Also picked up a copy from Madness..... then I quickly broke the top antenna off the SD :(

To those getting their copies: would you be so kind as to share with us the un spoiled content that we haven't gotten details for yet. I believe there are some upgrades that haven't been fully shown yet.

They have multiple distributors they order from and order in massive quantities from each. Basically anything is almost never out of stock there unless it has just not been reprinted in a long while (like the Falcon gap, etc).

PS - Ill be up at Madness tonight to pick up mine if anyone wants to come open/discuss the game =). Maybe even get a small battle in if I have time.

Just got a call from my FLGS in San Jose, CA that my pre-order is behind the counter. I'll be picking it up after work today!

Lucky!

One of our large stores (San Diego, CA) said they will be receiving it tomorrow, but the release date isn't until Friday!

Anyone know of an actual release/sale date from FFG?

picked mine up.

I have no idea. Its currently available at a LGS. We haven't even got an "available now" post.

Just picked up my 2 core-sets at Game Empire in Pasadena, CA

Waiting on US Amazon at the moment. Anyone else in that boat? Wondering if it might be a bit since I got the 50% off price.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm really hoping they don't put us on the bottom of the priority ladder because of the steep discount. :-/

Same here. I don't think folks are having to wait just because the half off deal from Amazon. It's all based on when you ordered your copy and how many ordered them. Amazon hasn't even listed the game for sale outside of third party vendors (neither has Barnes and Noble).

You just have some distributors shipping them off quicker then most. If you don't get a reply back from Amazon my Monday regarding your order, then I'd start to question things as it seems most retailers should have the game in stock by Friday.

Armada is available in distributors today and local store owners are able to either go there themselves and pick it up, or wait until tomorrow to have them delivered to their store.

Not shocked that Madness already has then as the owner practically lives at the distributors location, buying up everything he can.

Same deal with me, and the others who have commented. I went with two cores when I had originally planned on just one, since they were so unconscionably cheap.

I just got an email saying April 17 from Amazon. Hmm. That's a while off.

Is anyone with a copy going to spoil the rest of the cards that we don't know or confirm the cards that we know of?
