Welcome back to Wookies on X-Wing! This week we've got the finals of the Enbicon X-Wing Store Champs with Whisper/ Jax/ Howlrunner list being piloted by Ian going up against the Vader Swarm piloted by Jon.
Jon is in the booth giving commentary on how this matchup went, his strategy going in, and how he rolled with the punches.
Who will the fates favour in this epic matchup? Who will be Fredericton's first Store Champion?
Special thanks go to Jon and Matt from Wookies on X-Wing for providing commentary over this game, and for the University of New Brunswick Bookstore for hosting this great event!

I gotta say, Jon came off as kind of whiny the whole time. There were rounds where he had some pretty hot evade dice, but even in those rounds, all he did was complain about Ian's attack dice, instead of giving Ian credit for great positioning to stack up those red dice, giving Ian credit for the PS bid that let him freely spend focus to help attacks, giving Ian credit for whole rounds where half Jon's squad didn't even get to fire (of course you're going to lose if the other guy's attacking and you don't even have arc)...it was kind of unfortunate.

I'm glad he tried to soften it some there, at the end, when he said he was frustrated at himself, not at Ian/Ian's dice...but it felt a little half-assed, by that point. Especially when he went on and on about how the store needs a better rolling surface (which, whether he meant for it to be or not, was implying Ian was using the felt to cheat)...I dunno, man. It just left a bad taste in the mouth, listening to such a negative BatRep.

He didn't get out-lucked, he got out-flown. Acknowledging that in a half-assed way at the end of a video doesn't really make up for 30 minutes of solid complaining, prior to that acknowledgement (especially with the pouty, sulky, way he was flinging dice and minis around, on top of the voiceover).

Fly casual, Jon. I know it sucks to lose a championship, but remember that at the end of the day it's a silly little game of starfighters. Relax and have a good time, man.

Hey Critias,

thanks for the feedback, Sorry that the video wasn't as fun as the other ones. I think besides the obvious whinging problem, we didn't have Ian here with us, Matt was too tired from real life to reign me in, so I was able to just complain. As you pointed out: Whinging doesn't a very good video make. Ian and I have had really great games in the past, As I mentioned in the video i screwed up right out of the gate...and now Hindsight is 20/20 and 1080p.

As always I try to be a good sport and fun player, unfortunately i am giving into the bad side of being a wookie.

Again thanks for keeping us honest,

No harm, no foul, man! I was just sharing my thoughts on it. You guys certainly seem to have more fun in all the other vids of yours I've seen, which is part of what made this one so jarring. It was just a bummer to see, compared to all the rest of 'em, so I figured I'd share.

Worst part about that opening salvo is none of the shots should have hit! Carnor rerolls a shot and uses a focus while whisper uses a focus. You can't do either versus Dark Curse. So he wouldn't of taken either crit.

How do you guys find playing on maps with range delineation? Do you find it takes away from the special part of the game or is it more fun for you?
