So I'm thinking of a new pc but I don't want to repeat what's in our group. Basically a TIE pilot whose experimental plane crashes in the jungle and has lived on his own for a while. He joins up with the crew , who has recently joined the Rebellion and decides he's had enough of the Empire.

Right now we have a Smuggler pilot, melee and ranged heavies, a tech, a doctor, and our face entrepreneuer.

So any thoughts would be appreciated. I have access to all books, so aything goes.

Arguably you could also go for the Beast Rider, it could work for someone who's lived a while/long time on a jungle world alone, this backstory also opens up for Scout, Big Game Hunter and perhaps even Fringer - and Survivalist.

It depends on how much you want that solitary existence after the crash to guide your career and spec choice, compared to how much you want the TIE test-pilot story to guide it.

If you get more XP to start with than the normal starting xp (if this is a group that's played a few sessions), you could consider a second spec too without losing much on the characteristic side of things.

Since you mention "plane" as opposed to starfighter, which could be intentional, you could also go for Driver (either as an explorer or ace), this would specialise you in pilot (planetary).

I mean, your group seems to have covered combat, healing and repairs, plus social situations and transportation. You're basically free to do whatever you want as the basic roles are filled.

EDIT: you could also just go for Gunner to make the group's ship that much more hard hitting in space combat.

Find a couple of skills that the group lacks, or rarely uses, or ask the GM what kind of skills he thinks are lacking. Find a tree with talents reinforcing this skills, and bridge this with the background concept you have.

With the group composition, sounds like survival could fit very much... so as suggested above, Beast Rider.

Just say he had a life before piloting where he was a xxxxxxx, and make whatever you like.

At the moment im toying with Ace (Hotshot), then Survivalist from Bounty Hunter...

If you're joining an existing group with some xp awarded already, maybe your GM would be inclined to throw you some bonus xp to cover the cost of buying Survivalist on top of Pilot.

This-- since you said you want to NOT repeat what's given. I see pilot and you were a pilot. So unless your planning on having your own ship to escort the others I would try something else.

What about a Force Sensitive? That doesn't seem to be a repeat based on your original post.

Gonna make some clarifications.

1. I'm the GM. What I'm doing is for a new player who might join the group (that and I just like building characters).

2. I've built him from the ground up, giving an extra 240 xp, for a 350 point build, but I could add more easily.

3. Our ranged Merc Soldier is pretty good on the Gunnery front, as well. So I guess the characters leaning towards the Survivor/tracker type.

4. The story so far is that the crew is stranded on this planet with little or no tech to repair the ship. The TIE pilot was testing an experimental craft and was stranded there as well. It was the story to get the crew the parts they need to get off world eventually. I figured it was a good way to introduce a new character at this point.

5. I have thought of the FS route if the player wants to add some in.

While I'm against tainting the purity of EotE with things from AoR, since you're doing it, do the Imperials have any snubfighters with a copilot crew position?

Your dude was the copilot, the pilot didn't make it. He was your best friend and now you're sad.
