TiE Wars anime

By Osprey, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Old news is old

The original shorter version came out in Feb this was the extended version that has only been out around 2 days ;)

Wow, I didn't realize that the expectation was that everyone here is up to date on every little thing Star Wars that is available on the web. Personally even if I've seen something before I can still appreciate when it is shared.

I love and hate this at the same time. It's an awesome piece, well done and very reminiscent of the late 80's early 90's anime I love, the soundtrack, while NOT SW is any way, really fits the piece. Just, really, the bad guys win? Without even the Inderdictor going down? NOOOOOOO! It is amazing work, my compliments to the animator and thanks Osprey for sharing.

I loved the technical detail, but yeah I could have done without the soundtrack.

I appreciate that this thing is a love letter to the old flight sim games, too. The cockpit layouts and some of the sound effects were drawn from those old games. Having played Tie Fighter the most of any of them, that's pretty much how badass you could be in the game. Even the bomber can dogfight when loaded with concussion missiles...as you learn in a mission when all the assault gunboats on your carrier are out of action and they stick you in just that situation.

But if the bad guys don't win most of the time, at least right up until that critical battle, then they can't really be the bad guys...

"Good always triumphs over Evil"

"But that can't be right. Doesn't every story begin with the Bad Guys in charge? So, doesn't that imply that Evil has to win most of the time for Good to be the downtrodden that rise up against it?"

"Somewhere between "villian of the week" and "good triumphs over evil" there's a sweet spot where someone like me can rule the roost for YEARS. As long as I'm willing to accept my eventual defeat, I win regardless."
